On Amazon two new vinyl titles from the Music On Vinyl label appeared 'A Date With Elvis' and 'From Elvis In Memphis'. Both titles come on 180 grams audiophile vinyl with a gatefold sleeve on August 1, 2011.

'From Elvis in Memphis' is the thirty-fifth album by Elvis Presley, originally released in 1969. The recording of the album marked the definite return of Presley to non-soundtrack albums, after finishing his movie contract with Paramount pictures. Motivated by his early influences in country, rhythm and blues and the latest music trend in Memphis being gospel and soul, Presley chose to record these songs at the Memphis-based American Sound Studio.
Still one of his most classic albums. Nice to see it available on vinyl again.
I remember buying this LP and playing it at my mothers home.My fav track is "Any Day Now" but there all great.

If you really want hear this album in audiophile form take the very first pressing of USA 1969 original vinyl edition. Absolutely out of this world. No other LP, CD (even FTD or Complete Masters) or reel-to-reel. Nothing compares to it. I can testify with my very very expensive +or- 50.000 dollar sound system.
Nice to know, 'Truth. I have the version I picked up in the '80s (it blew my mind)plus "The Memphis Record" (around the same time and likewise), plus all the varous CD repackagings, which I still love. If I were to track down that first pressing, what should I look for? The on-line sales sometimes are less than clear what version is for sale. Any details will help me make that case. In any event it's always great to get the originals, although I love the FTD re-issues and related vinyl titles. I might spring for the new one as well, but a proper FTD (2-LP) would fit the bill for me, too.
The next time I buy this title will be when FTD releases their 2-cd version as a part of their 'Classic' album series.
I had the MFSL vinyl LP at one time that was pretty damned good, better than my original RCA pressing.
