This is quite a steamroller. No one in the history of music has done this. Since the single releases began two months ago, Elvis has gone no. 1 and no.2 every time, up against the biggest names in music at the moment, U2, Jennifer Lopez, Eminem, etc. Only for Elvis is it considered a flop or failure when a single only gets to no. 2. Some people spend their whole lives to get to no. 2 and consider it a career accomplishment. For Elvis, no. 2 is regarded a miss. It just proves that no one ever dominated the charts like Elvis. I would like to see Usher do this! No one will even remember who Usher is next year! In 5 years, he will be like Shaggy, and MC Hammer, and Debbie Gibson, and Milli Vanilli, and NSYNC, and Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block and so on and so on and so on..... We are witnessing history, people. This is chart domination like has never appeared before. We probably won't see this kind of domination of the charts again.... So enjoy the moment!

I think we can accept this number two with some enjoyment, purely because J Lo has sold quite a lot more records than Surrender this week. However, the two previous number two's were extremely near misses in sales terms, & this was purely down to RCA not having the records in the shops for people to buy. BUT... this is still the case.. there are no singles for anyone to buy in the shops outside the big cities. How can a record get to number one if no-one can buy it? I have never known a situation where I have not been able to buy a record. All the other artists in the hit parade have records for sale, but not Elvis. As far as I am concerned this is still a monumental cock-up by his record company. I mean, are they just plain stupid? Don't they want to sell records? Extra copies? oh yeh?..

Now that Elvis has the most #2 singles does that mean another compilation "Elvi2"?
