This is wonderful news as I love the Elvis movies and the Soundtracks.

instead of re packaging movies we already have, how about including a movie not yet available on DVD ? I'm sure this package would sell better if it had a pristine copy of 'Charro !' or ' On Tour', 'Kissin Cousins' 'Girl Happy' etc etc or unseen 'bloopers' included.

So what's new in this set, except for the packaging, which I must admit looks very tempting? 5 minutes of private home movies?! Would it be available for swopping with my previously released films mentioned here and which I already own on DVD? Otherwise forget it. By the way, next year marks the 30th Anniversary of "Jailhouse Rock". Will it be given the Special Edition treatment, similar to this year's "Love Me Tender" SE? Now that's something to look forward to.

Spinout was not a great film. If it didn't have Elvis in it no one in their right mind would see it. I'll admit I've got it on video and I only watched it once in two to three years. The movie is like NEARLY any other 60's Elvis film, boring. And I know it was Tom Parker who made him do all that Hollywood musical rubbish and he also forced Elvis to marry Priscilla, so don't get me strarted.

Well all very nice if you don't already own the DVD's though I have to say the packaging and extras look great, I wonder how much this will set us back probably around £100 I reckon.

What is not mentioned here is that all these movies are from MGM. However this does not include all his MGM movies as an actor – missing are Kissin' Cousins, Girl Happy, Stay Away Joe and Live A Little, Love A little. (Not to mention the two documentaries) A complete MGM box would have been a very nice item.

Spinout is one of my favorite Elvis movies! It's fun! Who says we need 'Citizen Kane' every time we pop in a movie? The music is excellent too. I really believed the band was playing (when I was a young'un). It's been one of my faves since. The reason we don't have 'Kissin' Cousins' or 'Girl Happy' on DVD is one of songwriting copyrights. The same person--the one who wrote 'Smokey Mountain Boy' also wrote one of the songs in 'Girl Happy' and will not let their songs be used on dvd. Simple as that!

Great packaging but for me it's hardly Ultimate. Another collection of missing movies, now if you want to impress me, release Love Me Tender, Loving You, Jailhouse Rock, King Creole, G.I. Blues etc, ie release them in order of production, 6 at a time until all 33 films are packaged this way. Then you'll have an Ultimate Collection... "Action, eh Memphis"

Ronbaker, what on earth are you talking about?? Complete nonsense...a song writer can not prevent the release of a DVD because they wont let their song be used. Publishing rights to all film music where the music has been written for the film are owned by the studio or the assigned publishing company, this case what were Elvis' own companies....think you are confusing performer rights....

Getlow: out of everybody that's posted on this..you hit the nail on the head. Release 6 at a time until all 33 films are packaged this way..Then you'll have an ultimate collection. If I'm not mistaken, these same nine movies are already available together in a set anyway..Without the extras.

Out of all the movies in this set, the only ones I can sit thru & watch are Jailhouse, Viva, & TTWII. The others are hard to take and illustrate what happened to a once promising film career. Thanks Colonel! The other stuff in the box is just filler to get you to buy it. A big pass on this one.
