This has got to be a joke, although as a warning about what drugs will do to you, it might have some use.

Hopefully it will teach them how he became a star, how he sort of started everything and that his influence is still seen, experienced and admitted by present day musicians, singers etc. And also on how hard it was to be that one and only person with such an influence. Let's hope not again (chewed out by now) about the causes of his death, prescribed drugs etc. The latter has no positive influence on children, not even as a warning. Because drugs in many more varieties and even more destructive ways are available to them. Looking back on history Elvis was not the only one who used and now-a-days it is even more in voque (helas) causing much more damage!

This book should be less than a page long. What every child should know about Elvis is that no one ever combined the charisma and vocal talent into one package like he did. He is the one true superstar that is the measuring stick for all other superstars and his career has never been paralleled. As a man, he was generous to a fault and had his great qualities and of course like all of us, his flaws. As far as how Elvis helping them to understand the modern world and the adults in their lives, it seems the "three Dads" are using Elvis' name to help sell a book. If you want to know about Elvis Presley, listen to the honesty and sincerity in his voice on "How Great Thou Art", the heart and soul he pours into his ballads and blues songs, the authenticity of his country offerings that somehow sound different than any other country song, the way he could make the most ridiculous songs palatable and even enjoyable and of course his remarkable gift of rocking like no one else did or has since. Children and adults alike can a learn a lot about love, faith, passion, loneliness, sadness, happiness and lost love by listening to Elvis' music. You don't need a book, just the man's music.

I bought my Grandson the UK edition of HitStory CD set. Those 91 songs will say more than 1000 books ever could.
