You'll never walk alone and memories are instrumental tracks??!! Funny, with all the great songs recorded for the show, they decided to include these in the soundtrack...??!!

Now that we know the actual tracklist as of Sept 29th (The songs That's All Right, Burning Love are also included), the only songs they really missed by not including in the album are "It's Now or Never" (The entire tone is changed with amazing results) and "Return to Sender". Anyhow you can go to Amazon and listen to the samples of each track's gonna be really big! Blue Suede Shoes is a knockout!!!

Brian Quinn (profilecontact) wrote on Sep 28, 2010report abuse
The album has 12 tracks in the UK and some countries (Belgium, France, Spain) have 13 (including a duet on 'Love Me Tender' by local artists)..

We went to see Viva Elvis in Las Vegas in August and the show was fantastic, but the best song I thought was Burning Love and that isn't even on the Album. When they played the song it had a heavy rock tune to it and a lot of fantastic drumming, it gave be goosebumps. I hope it's eventually released.

I am guessing that there will be another set with 10 more tracks in a year or so. They have plenty more to do a vol. 2. Bossa Nova Baby, I think, is a classic. In the show it was fantastic.

al shook up - yes I was around in the 60's and 50's. Actually from the beginning. While Bossa Nova Baby can never be considered a classic , it was a heck of a lot better than most of his 60's soundtrack songs. In fact, probably better than all of them in the 60's except for RT Sender & Viva. Like you and many others, I was waiting for a return to form but sadly it never happened until 1968.

Well dgirl..I don't know if you were around at that time in the sixties but I was and being an Elvis fan at the time felt along with many others obviously, that this was not what we wanted at all...consequently no more serious chart entries for a long time!

Correction. Bossa Nova Baby was NOT the start of the decline in record sales. One Broken Heart For Sale was. It was the first Elvis single to fail to crack the top 10. BNB actually came out later that year and made the top 10, the last single to do so for a few years.

Only 10 ?!? Why not a 2cd-set............or complete audio-dvd witout a break !
al shookup (profilecontact) wrote on Sep 20, 2010report abuse
Memories is a beautiful song and should be there but why 'Bossa Nova' ..this song was the start of his decline in record sales in the UK in the sixties as people didn't want his mediocre film songs any more!

I hope we get more than 10 Tracks on this "highly anticipated" CD. It would be such a "let down" if it was only a 10 Track CD !! I hope "Burning Love" along with the others mentioned are on the CD. RCA-Sony please don't let us down !

I'm not gone on them messing with the mans music like this. Suspicious Minds is just so perfect the way it is, even with the fade out which was also messing with the music, but it worked. JxL worked because it just caught me by surprise. I suppose the important thing is, the newer generation may get interested. I was in the cinema today with my son and they played the Elvis lottery ad. You could hear a pin drop and the place was full of teenagers. Pocketful of Rainbows, how good it sounded, just pure Elvis. I think it was Scotty Moore who said that messing with Elvis' music is like painting a moustache on the Mona Lisa.

Actually there's only 9 songs listed here, unless Elvis recorded a song called "Opening", though I've never heard of it before.

Before people get angry any start hating others, we should ask ourselves if this track listing has been confirmed. We had a similar issue recently with people thinking that songs were missing from the complete masters box set because an error was made in compiling the list. I have done a bit of digging and cannot find a track listing. Sony are still saying that it is to follow and none of the on-line retailers show one. Maybe this list is right, or maybe it's wrong. It is too soon to know yet.

Are the versions the same from the show, just recorded in a studio? If so, King Creole is sung by a female singer. I don't remember You'll Never Walk Alone in the show. 10 songs is just not enough. I will buy it of course. :)

ARE THEY CRAZY??? Why not It's Now or Never on this album? I hate SONY.

It's not quantity which counts BUT quality. The first single release from the album 'Suspicious Minds' released on 25th October is outstanding.

10 tracks was the typical Elvis LP back in the 70's Guess they wanted to keep up the tradition!

Yes, good question; why only 10 tracks! What is this, a Camden Budget LP!?
Jim says hello (profilecontact) wrote on Sep 18, 2010report abuse
I'm shattered 'it's now or never' isn't on there... the version I heard was so different and fresh and Elvis sounded as though he had rerecorded it. Haven't heard Bossa Nova Baby but can imagine... hopefully there'll be a volume 2!
Dan (profilecontact) wrote on Sep 18, 2010report abuse
Oh, No! Burning Love is so awesome. I hope they don't leave it out!!! However, Bossa Nova Baby is great, the drums are superb. Easily the best track on the album...
