Get Framed By The Memphis Mafia

Here's an interesting way to throw away 59.95 $US. From Lamar Fike and Marty Lacker's news letter:

"For many years since Elvis passed away, we, as original members of the Memphis Mafia, have marveled at the way millions of you worldwide Elvis fans have stayed with him and in many ways have made him into the cultural icon that he deserved to be. We greatly have appreciated the way you have diligently kept his memory alive. Over time we have discussed ways we could show you our appreciation and honor your efforts. In that light, we have decided to honor your efforts and fandom by offering you the opportunity to become honorary members of the Memphis Mafia organization, you've earned it. We have many exciting things we are planning for the organization in the near future months and years and as a member you will have the exclusitivity of being able to participate in these exciting events and offerings. This a first, a never before offered opportunity for you the faithful Elvis fan."

O, in case you're wondering what you're paying for: it's a 'diploma' for the Memphis Mafia Group with your name on it. Suitable for framing. Publishing the link where to buy it goes a bit too far to our taste, but if you really want it: try eBay.

Lamar and Marty want to honor us for being Elvis fans? All we have to do is spend $59.95 for a "diploma"? No thanks. Keep your "diploma". We will always be Elvis fans!!!!! We don't need a "diploma" fom the Memphis Mafia to prove that!

This is so disgusting how can they stoop so low and claim to be Elvis friend.

Hmmm.. that certificate might display great next to the "Patch The Pony" Honorary Junior Deputy certificate.

Elvis is flipping over & over & over as the world and people he knew & loved continue to make a mockery out of just knowing him.

Just one thought comes to me. This is supposed to be on eBay...does anyone know if it is legitimate? Could be a fake. Sounds too obvious for these guys. I know that Lamar Fike is supposed to have a book coming out soon. In light of that, I don't see him getting involved in something as stupid as this. Anyone have more info?

I do agree with you, this makes me sick, really. But I don´t understand how you can hate people, that saved Elvis´ life a lot of times. That´s the truth. They did a lot of good things for the person we adore. Of course, they took advantage of him, but I´m sure most of us would have. I know, I would

How much lower can these scumbags sink? $59.95 for a diploma from Marty Lacker and Lamar Fike? I'd rather watch 'Harum Scarum' - twice in a row. Who the hell do these people think they are? Fame by association is the lowest form of desperation.

There are quite a few fans, including myself, who would rather pay $59.99 for the privilege of NOT having anything to do with Fike & his ilk...

for a while I doubted between donating to the Salvation Army or Memphis Maffia, but have chosen the last one, can't wait to get my diploma..
