It's great to have another Elvis film to add to my DVD collection. This is one I've been longing to own. What's funny is that while this was a United Artists film it is being released on DVD by MGM, as happened with Frankie and Johnny if I'm not mistaken. Yet, films originally released by MGM have still to see the light of day on DVD. Films like "World's Fair", "Kissin' Cousins", "Speedway", "Stay Away Joe", "Live A Little..." etc. Could this be because they still feature regularly on Cable TV?! Come on MGM, we want to own ALL Elvis Films.in this Century if possible!!

EJF, I think you are going after the wrong studio. Ted Turner has the MGM movies on Warner. MGM has the 4 UA movies. Ownership changes over the years. I also would like to get the MGM movies, especially Elvis On Tour, but we need to put the pressure on Warner.

re: circleG comments. No I havn't noticed this. I better check my laserdiscs too. Anyhow, Follow That Dream is being advertised as Standard Screen ratio for DVD. I have it in widescreen on laserdisc and it's brilliant. I cannot believe they are putting this out in normal ratio. Tremendous cover though!! There is some real confusion about who owns what. In the UK, Warners release / distribute all the original MGM films owned by Turner, whilst MGM Home Video distibute the UA stuff. Apparanetly, they do not own the rights to FTD in the UK, so it's doubtful it will get released in the UK.

I expect Follow That Dream will be released in its cinemascope ratio,(letterbox). It is true that films like Kid Galahad,Easy Come Easy Go,GI Blues, which were shot in an aspect ratio similar to 4:3 have been cropped at the top & bottom to fit a 16:9 widescreen.(Loving you seems to be an exception)Has anyone noticed the colorised Jailhouse Rock has more top and bottom to the picture than the letterbox version?

great news and not before time. My only gripe is that these are not widescreen versions. 'Frankie and Johnny', 'Kid Galahad', 'Change of Habit' and 'King Creole' were the 4:3 ratio versions with just the tops and bottoms of the screen cut off! am i the only one who noticed this? Come on MGM, when you say widescreen please please make it widescreen!
