Elvis Is Back Delayed

February 18, 2011 | Music

Once again a new Elvis release is delayed and this time it's the 2 disc legacy edition of 'Elvis Is Back'. The new edition brings "Elvis Is Back" together with "Something For Everybody" and also features 12 bonus songs which made up some of Elvis' biggest hit singles of the period.

'Elvis Is Back (Legacy Edition)' was scheduled for a February 28th release but is now delayed until March 8th when it will be released as both physical and digital formats.

Not that I need it but will consider purchasing it only when the price goes down to €6.49 on Play, hopefully in about a year's time.

A delay on 50 year old recordings. How unique.

I'll buy this one. Not only is my favorite Elvis Album as it is one of best Albums from the Rock era by anyone. Together with Something For Everybody is a must for every rock fan.

Maybe they decided to use the new masters from the complete Elvis box set and thats why it's delayed...just a thought

It's no big deal, it will be in the shops a week later than originally planned.

Ok for all you 'Rolling Stone hates Elvis' folks out there, the new issue just gave this release a 4 1/2 star review! Thats almost perfect. Theory doesn't hold much water now.

Does it really matter anymore? By the time this gets released another CD store by me will be out of business with another to close next month. Its all ridiculous. Where are these cds going to be stocked online where no one can hold them and read them? Pitiful situation the music industry is in, plain pitiful.

Just received my copy a week early so I don't understand that report about a delay, it's been newly mastered by Viv Anesini and it's a different mastering from the FTD version and to my ears it sounds better, it's a fuller sound with more bass and Elvis sounds richer with a more forward sound without losing the impact of the backing instruments, it's a must have.

Yes, it's definitely out! At least play.com have it in stock. (£11.99,) This version is an EU pressing. Amazon are currently advertising the US import for a lot more money, so you know where to get it! As "rusty" says, it sounds superb; I've not got the "Masters Box set" (Who has?!) but I would bet it has come from that. I'm listening to things I've never heard before - It's great, buy it!!!
