EspenK - Yes I am in the USA and I never heard of her, but that doesnt mean she is not popular here. Its just I dont catch all the new artists unless someone recommends one, as you just did. I will check her out soon.

Yeah I've got Hunter's debut from 2006, "People gonna talk". Very retro. I find it strange, yet fascinating when current artists look backwards like this, and "imitate" the former styles and sounds. Enya has been around a long time though, had her debut in the late eighties and had a couple of hits along the way (Orinoco Flow being the biggest hit), but maybe she's mainly known in europe and never made it into the US market (assuming that's where you live).

EspenK - Thanks, I will do that. I am always looking for new artists to listen to. Perhaps I will pick up her Christmas CD. I discovered James Hunter last year, a throw-back to smooth 60's soul/rock music. Check him out if you like Sam Cooke, Ben E King, etc. He's one cool Brit.

Dgirl, if you havent heard Enya before you really should give her a listen. Her music is tender, soft, very harmonic with a charismatic celtic flavor. It really is beautiful, I'm pretty sure you'll like it.

I think it is interesting, that Elvis' album is the only one that has Christmas in the title. To me, that means Elvis' album, is the #1 Christmas album of 2008. The others, are the top Holiday albums of 2008. "Merry, merry Holiday, baby. You sure did treat me right." Doesn't quite sound right, does it.

Who is Enya and why is she/he number one? I dont think I ever heard one song from that album that I am aware of. I fully expected the Elvis album to be #1. Maybe it came out too early? I heard a lot of it on the radio so folks were requesting it to be played. Holiday album my tookus, they are called Christmas albums where I come from because duh, they celebrate Christmas!

That was pretty good going considering how long Elvis has been gone. I wonder when Christmas albums started being called Holiday albums?
