Well, it seems that the tracklist is way much better then the one included on "Command Performance". I think this album is the only one that deserves a little more attention, specially from people that say that all Elvis' movie songs were bad.

I hope the underrated gem of from GI Blues, "Blue Suede Shoes" is included in this set. That's a track rarely seen in compilations. I like Elvis' laid back approach when cutting this version of "Blue Suede Shoes".

Sorry for the "of" typo. I mean't "the underrated gem from GI Blues". It would be neat to see "I'm A Roustabout" & "C'mon Everybody" included here in this set.

Some nice songs, but I could do without the Love Machine

Nice idea , but its been done before. Command Performance is fine for this theme. Couldnt they have found better songs than Do The Clam & Clambake? Two Elvis songs with the word clam in them is enough for me to stay away. Only Song Of The Shrimp was missing for a complte shellfish songfest.

Looks like it contains nothing new. Another movie compilation cd and two movie box sets. It seems like just the same old movies in a new box. I sure hope this is not the "huge Elvis news" that was announced by Warner in a chat session and featured in the news section of this site on March 8, because this doesn't make me "VERY VERY HAPPY"

Command Performances is pretty much unbeatable in compiling Elvis movie songs...and it has 62 songs...with 22 more songs to work with the compilers did a better job. Maybe they should re-release it with a better cover?

Its just this simple folks, this release is not needed, the already mentioned command performances is just fine and over all has a good tracklisting, and please no one tell me that this new set has upgraded sound, ill just have to scream if you do!

Its even more than simple: this release is for the GENERAL public, not for hardcore fans. Stop complaining, these kind of releases is just to keep Elvis in the record stores and in the eye of the public. No one, besides the fans, is waiting for outtakes, they don´t care about them, they want full versions. Thats the mean reason the FTD label is there. And i like this film cd a lot. Great cover by the way!

The first cd is ok but the second has some of the worst songs he ever recorded

So command performances wasnt good enough for the average buyer? Whos complaining? just stating that these releases do nothing more than confuse buyer's,and it does seem ftd has become the only way we will get very many unreleased cd's,do i like that? no but it doesnt mean im complaining, i think complaining would be saying something like all the releases are crap, oppions are why were all here right? but this releases wont make me loose any sleep!

Songs like Clambake, Do The Clam, The Love Machine and many others should never be released nowadays to the general public. It was bad enough when they were back in the 60's. Leave these for the hardcore collectors who want junky songs like this on an FTD label. This is bad for Elvis' image as The King. First disc is OK and some of the 2nd, but why was this needed anyway? We already had the movie songs on Command Performances.

I agree Steve V. Some tracks here are clearly not general public material. Even as a fan I have a hard time with "Do The Clam". This could be a great insight in the releases we might expect from Warner. That being the case we might be seeing Charro, Kissin' Cousins, Live A Little, Love A Little and Stay Away Joe along with special editions of Jailhouse Rock and Viva Las Vegas as I mentioned on previous posts. Shame that of the 40 tracks listed, 11 from the first CD are on 30#1's and 2nd To None, so even new fans are starting to get repetitions in their collections.

Steve V has written very wise words: "songs like Clambake, Do The Clam, The Love Machine and many others should never be released nowadays to the general public. It was bad enough when they were back in the 60's." I think I'll skip this one but, who knows! I'm starving about 'new' Elvis' things and I like very much the cover. And if anybody of you think that I am complaining, of course I am.

Command performances does the job just fine with Elvis movie songs, this one adds nothing, and the already mentioned command performances is still in print!

We also will need Ticle Me and Girl Happy on DVD. Please WB, all 6 unreleased DVD's are needed this year! Thank you! The CD release is fine too as it will promote he DVD's.

The artwork is nice with some good song choices, but alot of the "great Movie songs" are missing like "Edge of Reality", "So Close yet so Far", "Please don't stop Loving me", just to name a few, of many! Will this set be released in the states and overseas? RCA has yet, to confirm, this.
