I went to see Elvis in Concert on this tour in Louisville, Kentucky for the first time on 11/07/1971 and it was fabulous and he was GREAT. I saw him five other times from 1972-1977 but this tour was special and he was doing songs like I'm Leavin, Polk Salad Annie, and You've Lost That Loving Feeling and you could tell he was having a blast. Man, those were the days. Makes me almost tear up thinking back almost 40 years. Where did the time go as I was 17 then. Definitely buy this concert CD as I am and I hardly ever buy FTD releases not because I do not want too. I just can not afford 30 dollars for a CD.
I hope you're wrong about that... Great show, but I'm not really impressed: a very well known concert since 1996 (!): The Power of Zhazam and 2006: One night only! Maybe a complete version of How great thou art after all these years? Nice cover, by the way.
There`s an audience recording of the Louisville show..it was a Sunday and 2:30 PM show.

I often feel that the best of Elvis was never caught on film or audio.ie 1971 for instance or Madison Square Garden not being professionally filmed.I love Elvis in 1971 and we do not have much material from this year.I will definately buy this one.I must add in my opinion that Elvis in the early 70s was totally unbeatable by any other artist.Nobody comes close to Elvis in the early 70s.He was totally on fire.Nobody looked as good,nobody moved as good and nobody sang as good.
As you will see, I had some input on this CD with photos,and I am of course really looking forward to it. Boston was my "First Time" seeing Elvis LIVE and he did not disappoint. He was all I expected and more. I was lucky enough to catch 13 shows but Boston will always remain my favorite. I am really happy to have this show on an official FTD release.
Fantastic news! The November 1971 Elvis tour is, for me his best tour ever since the 50's and one of the best tours from the Rock History by anyone. The review from this concert of Martin Landau (that later would be Bruce Springsteen manager) for the Rolling Stone magazine, says it all. Elvis was at his best and this concert is one of the best concerts in the rock era with The King teaching rockers like Morrison, Jagger, Hendrix, Plant, you name it! And what’s good is that the general public will be able to know it. Just hope that this release, will have the deserved promotion, specially in music magazines like Rolling Stone, Billboard, Mojo or others, because this is a piece of Rock History. I like the cover design, very retro. It takes me back to buying Elvis albums in the seventies. As for the concert itself, it is one I very much enjoy. When the first bootleg CD was released, I was unimpressed by the average sound quality, but the second release made me realise just how good the concert was. The improvement in sound was greater than most re-issues. I think that this concert is very worthy of an official release. With regard to the missing segment, it was caused by a tape change. I would rather give thanks that the majority of the concert exists rather than concentrate on a few missing minutes.
It's a great show, but to buy the same show for the third time after 2 bootlegs...no...same goes for the two upcoming Chicago 1976 show...FTD is saving me a lot of money lately...
Great Album cover (the artwork resembles the Madison Square Garden album) and a real great photo of Elvis. This show is a a real good one ! I highly recommend it.
Yes this looks like a real winner. The cover is exceptional - well done on this one FTD. It will be interesting to see how this compares with the previous imports, especially the most recent outing but not everyone has access to those so finally this great concert is available to everyone. I wonder how the mastering will sound on this one.....gulp...

The cover actually looks nice to me,it doesnt look cheap like quite a few Ftd release do. So it seems ftd is now putting booklets in all there releases, it only took them 10 years but at least its a step in the right direction. I will get this one, its one on my list of few ftd's i am interested in now. Would like to see the opening and closing night shows from jan and feb 1970 that along with the 2 remaining shows from ttwii and the 3 shows from on tour are about all im interested in, just quality material for me.
This one really looks awesome to me! I clicked on it thinking it was another "boot" I'd never be able to find to buy--but looks like this is a legit release! Cool! And I have never heard a live version of "I'm Leavin". Looking forward to this one!
For the most part I've wisely avoided buying bootlegs since FTD arrived on the scene. For me such a move has its rewards including Boston '71. I too like the nostalgic font on the cover, giving the event its deserved place in Elvis history. However the shot of Elvis is a bit blurred and static for me. The lights and shadows are too distractive and there are better photo's from this show. I actually heard parts of the show on a 6 min You Tube clip titled Live in Cincinatti 1971 accompanied with audio from Boston and it sure whets my appetite for this release.
I owned Madison's One Night Only, which was a top notch production. The show is indeed great, but the sound quality is poor for a soundboard recording. I doubt the wizards at FTD will be able to make huge improvements in what you hear. I also doubt that whatever they release will come close to the overall package released by Madison. The booklet alone on the Madison release was worth the price of the CD. Anyway, if you do not have a 1971 concert, this one is a keeper. Hopefully, FTD will someday release the 8PM show from February 23rd, 1971 (disc two from Showroom Internationale). It's a great show, and the sound is excellent.

I will surely buy this one. This was the very first time that I saw Elvis in Concert. It was a great show and he was in
a superb shape. I had got my concert ticket from a friend but I realized that first... row was on the arena floor but at the last section of seatings. That is why from then I purchased my Elvis' Concert tickets by myself so I can choose much better seats. I had sweared that it would be OK for me to see him once...but I soon realised that I needed more and more ! I had the chance to see him 13 other times in New York City (NY), Long Island (NY), Providence (RI), Philadelphia (PA), Niagara Falls, (NY) Springfield, (MA), Buffalo (NY), Syracuse (NY) and Augusta (ME).

This is a fantastic show in excellent quality for a nearly 40-year-old soundboard recording. In fact, I am listening to Madison's "One Night Only !" CD as I type this. I can't reccommend this upcoming CD highly enough for those who missed out on the Madison import. Obviously, FTD's graphics will even be close to Madison, but I must admit that I like the cover and its title with its slight nod to Elvis's other famous "Garden" party (sorry Rick...). You can't go wrong by ordering this one - a top 10 FTD release for sure.
Hello Folks, This was a good show, Elvis was in a good mood and seamed"Un-Drugged" for lack of a better word. He did not talk much though. I am glad that the Official release is finally coming out, I am sure it will sound better than what I have. This show was so "straight laced" like reading a manuscript. I dis like those shows, but it was a great show none the less. This is almost the first time he sang Live "I'am leaving", and if you listen with pro-head phones, you can hear a deep sadness in his heart...I knew what he was thinking, as will all of you when or if , you get this great show. I would give it 3 1/2 stars out of 5. TC all:-)
When will FTD release something new? This is a well-known concert since 1996. I have Madison's ONE NIGHT ONLY in excellent sound,with fantastic 16-page booklet so i won't re-buy this concert. Give me something new and i will buy that.
The additude of a few fans amaze me, the ones that say that FTD should not release concerts that they have already bought as bootlegs, despite an official release giving many more fans the chance to hear them. They have it already, know cares about anybody else? I'm all right, jack.
when in the world is this going to be released? i been waiting patiently for it and its not out around here yet. i already have it as one night only but i think the ftd/rca release will be better cuz they can do things other people cant do. and plus itll be ;egal lol

want to raise other fans' expectations...just average show folks ! Nothing to it ! If I were Jorgensen, I would have recommended it to BMG for release in a Double CD pack (together with the quality enhanced MSGarden Concert !?)

well snowman they really cant do any overdubbing on that if it was never recorded from professional equipment to begin with. the best they can do i polish the sound. they have done a great job on these releases in the past. for example the new years eve release was a great one. the orginal sound of it sucked. the remastered release sounds very good. i am excited for this release and who cares what the cd comes in i mean come on its a lot better than the paper towel like material they used on the old 45's i swear some peopel will complain about anything. elvis fans in general should be happy anything is coming out these days the mans been dead going 34 years. not many other performers can say they will be thought of even 2 years after they die nor would they have the following or the releases of stuff never heard by the general public. so quiot trashing ftd and rca. they aint here just to cater the die hard fans they need to attract newer fans as well. tahts why i aint ever against re-releases of any of his albums they should keep releasing them as long as they sell. if it aint broke you know the saying.
"Elvis Recorded Live On Stage in Memphis" from FTD was remastered by Lene Reidel, and I think the sound was amazing. So it is not all bad what she was doing. Also the FTD releases of the classic soundtracks "Frankie & Johnny" and "Paradise, Hawaiian Style" had been remastered by her. I guess the result depends on the source tape she got from Ernst. F&J sound very different to the former "Double Features" release, but Paradise sounds very similar to the "Double Features" release, so maybe the analogue tape was just the same. Since now, for this release, the source should be a mono tape, what can be done wrong with the digital master ? Just clipping.
