Another FTD Bug

After the lack of quality control on the recent The Elvis Is Back Sessions, for which a CD will be replaced next month, Elvis Information Network mentioned another one on a recent FTD product. The Viva Las Vegas Box has an (not audible) issue with the division in tracks. On disc 1, track 3 bleeds into track 4. If You Think I Don't Need You includes 15 seconds of I Need Somebody To Lean On. This means track 4 begins 15 seconds into I Need Somebody To Lean On. Not a real problem when you just play the CD, but it is a bloody shame that expensive products like these have so little quality.

Boxcar: correct ! Ernst & Co : let's hope the many (justified) complains ring a bell !

I think the errors matter because many fans are on the edge of going on buying FTD or not. Many ask: Should I buy the 250. unbalanched soundboard with only a dull Elvis and a nerveshaking E-Piano. Should I buy the 'Complete Sessions' for a lot of money just to get the missing 3 takes? And what if one of these 3 takes has a glitch?
The forums are full of comments like: I'll wait for the first reviews before I buy. And the sloppy quality control will sure help those fans with their decision to buy or not to buy forthcoming products. The hardcore collectors won't become more over the years. It's this on-the edge-fans crowd that becomes bigger. And you need quality to convince them to spend money.

Yes, these troubles which happened are things that shouldn´t happened, but they did, sadly. Hopefully the ftd team will make it better, so we get perfect products, flawless and beautiful. I am confident.

Gladyslove, probably (and hopefully) not, but they have their fate in their own hands, so let's hope for the best in the future. Ernst &Co should take lessons from what happened in the past !

Follow that dream: A label destroys itself. How will that continue in the future?

It's definitely not the first time where a track commences late into the next song. These problems also appear on the live FTD's "What Now My Love" and "Holiday Season in Vegas". This was something only bootleggers were capable of. Now it's Sony/FTD's turn. It is sloppy and totally unprofessional. Try assembling a playlist with these problems.

Mike.S. I was mislead while reading the article titled 'Another FTD Bug' when I read : "The Viva Las Vegas BOX (!!!) has an (not audible) issue with the division in tracks." .....Should have looked at the picture above the article saying "The Making Of Viva Las Vegas" ,but I was interested in the article in the first place and didn't take notice of the pic. Article should have said...""The Making of Viva Las Vegas" book."

Mike.S. My mistake ! I stand corrrected ! Thanks for letting me know. Glad it's not the "Sessions"-box I bought but still have to open due to (temporary) lack of time.

Benny, it's not about CD1 of "The Viva Las Vegas Sessions" CD set, but about CD1 of "The Making of Viva Las Vegas" book.

Now this is getting hilarious ! Elvis Information Network got their info from 'Jeff Owen '. As far as I know track 3 on disc 1 of the Viva Las Vegas Box is the song 'The Lady Loves Me' and track 4 is 'C'mon Everybody.!!?? The songs 'If You Think I Don't Need You' and I Need Somebody To Lean On' are tracks 10 and 11 on disc 1, tracks 21 and 22 on disc 1 "First Takes", tracks 4,5 and 6 on disc2 "Outtakes" and (to make it complete and make everybody happy) tracks 10, 11, 12 and 13 on disc 3 "Movie Tracks".
Somebody ? Always El.
