Almost In Elvis: If You Don't Come Back

August 22, 2004 | Other
The latest addition to our magazines section is the Dutch ‘Almost In Elvis” magazine. It is not a fan club magazine, but a private thematic publication from several fans. Each edition has a different theme and a matching publication format. This edition even includes 100% real hair of “The King”, but probably one of the editors walks around a bit more bold now.

This edition deals with the many come backs Elvis had, and the authors use a sharp and critical writing style. Their conclusion, after his army and 1968 comeback, Elvis’ death is his biggest comeback, commercially that is. Other articles in this magazine are interesting to read again, due to the personal, sharp and original way of writing. Besides the “scary” picture on the cover of this edition the only minor is that this publication is in Dutch only.

This is amagazine like no other it's cult in it's own... It seems that there are a few Elvis fans who don't have any sense of humor if it's about Elvis...Too pitiful...But Í actually feel sorry for the ones who can't read any dutch because you're missing out on something here! It's funny but not in a way that they're throwing dirt...It's critics in a good way.. And for you hillbillycat you don't know the product never seen it and never will understand it so don't judge a book by it's cover...And if Dutch are strange , then strange in your point of view means having a sense of humor... In my opinion that's not strange at all...Strange is judging something you don't know.... I guess the one who would have the biggest laugh( if he could read dutch ) is Elvis himselvis. Is it so strange???

A typical Case Of: Before You Abuse, Critizise And Accuse: It is a real Elvis picture, but edited with a photoshop program. It suits the article about Elvis who keeps coming back. "Their conclusion, after his army and 1968 comeback, Elvis’ death is his biggest comeback, commercially that is" as the news report stated. It is a fun magazine with a serious tone. The makers are real Elvis fans who just want to do something different, and different it is. And different doesn't always mean bad...

If you want a super great impression of what Elvis might look like now...check out Bruce Campbell's incredible portrayal of Elvis in "Bubba Ho-Tep"

I totally agree with ronbaker. Bruce Campbell should have gotten an award for Bubba Ho Tep. His take on what Elvis would look like today is uncanny. The film is also a wonderful tribute to the essence of Elvis. Highly recommended!

Wow! Great PhotoShop job! A pity it's in Dutch only, but seems very funny.

thats the whole joke i guess, they want to create a pic of Elvis of how he would look today if he still was alive.....its just not clear to me what the editors of this mag want to realise whit this and other editions from the past. i wonder if there are fans who are interested in these 'ghost' issues or this club.
