BMG will use a small "30th Anniversary" logo for the new releases to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Elvis death.

No creativity...as the rest of what EPE release for this anniversary year...

Agree with Murphy, Mofaco, shakingruud and so many other fans...No creativity left, no innovation, no attractive stuff...boring while so many of us have great ideas. Many suggestions and recommendations to Sony and BMG have been heard, written and read...and yet, Ernst or Roger do not reply nor have they free hand to do it right. Who are those gurus at Elvis' Strategic Marketing Dept who make those horrible wrong decisions? Most of their releases will not sell well and then they'll blame elvis fans for it. How bad can it get guys and girls ??

It can get bad. If releases don't sell, there won't be any more. When was the last time you saw a new Mario Lanza cd? Perry Como? Jim Reeves? It can be that way for us too.

man this is getting dangerously close to sending elvis into the abyss they could do something more creative than that cripes my 7 year old neiece can draw better crap than that and she scribbles. and why does it have to be 50's elvis all the time elvis didnt die in 1956 he died 1977 freaken use something from 1977 from a better performance of his like unchained melody and use the slogan gone but not forgotten honer elvis for his 30th anivversery of his untimely death

So, they just changed the number 20 for the number 30. Wow, how minimalist. I do not believe I have a reputation for being the most upbeat of individuals, but I really must say that the upcoming 30th anniversary has all the markings of being the most squandered opportunity since A Little Less Conversation five years ago. I really do despair at the people in charge of the Elvis "Brand", this is the greatest entertainer in history we are talking about here, are we really supposed to be satisfied with the constant re-hashing of old titles, and as displayed here old logos too? I thought the original one looked as if Boris Yeltzin had designed it and ten years on it looks as if they dug up the same old relic to produce the new one. BMG, EPE, CKX or whoever runs the show these days should be working their asses off to use the thirtieth anniversary of the passing of the King as a springboard for a massive re-invention of Elvis's music. There are 700+ songs which, given the right treatment and marketing could start a whole new Elvis craze. All you have to do is be sensible and contemporary. For christs sake Elvis even made it easy for them, they've got the greatest and most important material in history to work with and what do they do with it? Absolutely bugger all. They've been given a goose that lays a golden egg, and they've turned it into Pate. As I've said before on this site: They didn't know what to do with him then, and they certainly don't know what to do with him now.
