2007 Announcements

Elvis World's Bill E. Burk said that Harley-Davidson (Elvis' preferred motorcycle) and EPE will soon announce a promotional tie-in for 2007, while Graceland will also very soon announce "a huge retailing project" for Elvis Week 2007. He also says BMG will make a major Elvis record release by year's end in an effort to capture more young Elvis fans.

My favourites for a remix are High Heal Sneakers,U.S.Male and Burning Love.
Matured Elvis, please understand that there will always be young Elvis fans. However, their numbers were not suffiecent to take Elvis in to top five in the Charts. However, it was with ALLC and Rubberneckin that Elvis's singles career got a huge jumpstart. It was a huge turning point and thier successes resulted in Elvis ending up with 18 top five hits in the U.K.Chart. So try to undersatnd Matured Elvis. You can always listen to original Elvis hits, however a remix is for the general pop market (for those between ages of 16 - 28, who form the majority of pop market), not exactly targeted to matured (over 30 years, even I belong to this category ). Therefore. please do not worry, Elvis"s original catalogue would always be respected, although it would not neccessarily mean higher sales.

Okay...a remix album will be good. How about giving it some rock credibility and giving Green Day a track to provide the backing...one to U2...one to Danger Mouse...one to Paul McCartney...one to JayZ...one to Linkin Park...one to Erasure...let's use imagination...Elvis is NOT a relic...his music lives...his backing musicians were not always the best though...especially in the 70s. I look forward to something well done...and tastefully packaged. The packaging on "1" and "2" was dreadful.

Yes a remix supported by a visually stunning video clip using clips of Elvis!

So if remixes are so needed to keep elvis in the spotlight with the kids, then why are there so many young fans now and have been long before a remix was released!

I'd like to see a remix of "Patch It Up". Plus there is film footage of Elvis performing this. It would make a great video. I like the original version as it is but I welcome a remix.

Changes will be necessary to keep bringing Elvis into the future and....the original recordings will always be available for those who wish to keep it simple and pure. It's all about bringing Elvis to everyone.

The music will always be 'left alone' as the original recordings will always be available for all to enjoy. The remix idea is a good one to give some unknown classics a face-lift for younger ears to identify with. As Vince Everett said in Jailhouse Rock, music changes every 6 months you gotta change with it. Now that said, it must be done right and not destroy the artistry. Similar to the 1981 Guitar Man LP that brought Elvis back to the charts. Lets do it again 2007 style.

We should be democratic here. For those who want to worship Elvis as a relic of the past let them listen to originals. For those who want something fresh and exiting, and to see Elvis in the charts, let there be more and more remixes. After all 78% voted in favour of a remix. If Ortega can become the President with 38% of votes why cant BMG release a remix with 78% ?

Yes to a re-mix and if the old 'un's don't like it - tuff. They can always play take 18 of Clambake!
Juliepresleyfan (profilecontact) wrote on Nov 8, 2006report abuse
yes i agree leave elvis music alone, if yougsters dont like it the way it is and was, then tuff
mature_elvis_fan75 (profilecontact) wrote on Nov 8, 2006report abuse

I'm looking forward to this rumoured re-mix album. Something fresh and exciting.

I would expect be a definitive Elvis Anthology DVD box set to be a major announcement for 2007 but there is no mention of any DVDs. I think the major record release there will be a remix album to attract younger folks. Thats fine if it can help Elvis reach a younger audience.

I'll start getting "excited" about Sony/BMG plans for 2007 next spring. Starting about April or May. Right now I'm too excited about the forthcoming FTD deluxe edition of "His Hand In Mine" to speculate about what might be coming in 2007. I know one thing, I'm not the least bit interested in a remix single or album. I do expect one though.

This is a great move. I hope this works out fine and attract many young fans to Elvis. Also I assume that the major record release would be the much awaited remix.

It is about time that the guys at Orange County Choppers (one of my favourite tv-programmes at Discovery channell), start building the ultimate Elvis Harley Davidson Chopper. No kiddin' - Elvis loved riding motorcycles and if he would have lived today, he would assigned them to make a custom Presley-bike. And that major Elvis record release...: bring 'em on!
MauriceColgan (profilecontact) wrote on Nov 6, 2006report abuse
Cool to use the Harley and Elvis connection. So many young guys want to ride those very dangerous machines. But the thought of an Elvis crash helmet from EPE has me worried! BMG news sounds promising. Focusing on the young is a wise move. Maybe they can get the catalogue set right?

Well, hopefully there will finally be a major announcement from EPE for the 30th ! ...hugh retailing project(?) .., major record release to capture more young fans... is something we have been waiting for a long long long time ! Hope it materialises !

"a major Elvis record release by year's end" (2007 I assume?)... Could this be the much discussed remix album? Intersting.
