Reach out to Jesus

Rating:
4.7 / 5

Words & Music: Ralph Carmichael

Is your burden heavy as you bear it all alone?
Does the road you travel, harbor dangers yet unknown?
Are you growin' weary in the struggle of it all?
Jesus will help you with all his name you call

He's always there hearing every prayer, faithful and true
Walking by our side, in his love we hide all the day through
When you get discouraged just remember what to do
Reach out to Jesus, he's reaching out to you

Is the life you're living filled with sorrow and dispair?
Does the future press you with its worry and its scare?
Are you tired and jealous, have you almost your way?
Jesus will help you, just talk to him today

A very good Gospel song. Fabulous vocal by Elvis. Poorly recorded. Who the heck was the engineer on these sessions? Tinny sound, but great performance.

An excellent performance by Elvis and a really good arrangement too.

Very good vocal by Elvis, like it or not but his voice in the 70's was at his best. 5 stars for the album and this song. Maybe some records sounds better (i am an vinyl freak) but it doesn't sound poor here, but i must admit i have a very good sound system.

A beautifully written sacred song and it is perfectly delivered by Elvis.

Wonderful recording in a genre in which he excelled. I doubt he really liked Rock n' Roll, but it did make him famous while gospel had him totally immersed and those feelings shone through in performances such as this.

This is such a beautiful gospel song and Elvis' rendition of it was marvelous. The best gospel music will definitely always be Elvis' gospel music and no one will ever be able to sing gospel songs as well as Elvis sang them.

The engineer was Al Pachucki, who engineered at lot of Elvis' recordings. The studio was RCA's Studio B in Nashville.

The engineer was Al Pachucki, the studio RCA's Studio B, Nashville. The ending of this song is just amazing. Who dares to sing like that?

So beautifully sung. Elvis' voice was at his best when he sang Gospel and this song proves just that. Love the notes he hits at the end.
