This enjoyable movie and soundtrack, features, the best and the worst of the Elvis movie songs. The best being "Can't help Falling in Love" and the worst being "Ito Eats". I wish Elvis hadn't recorded "Ito".

Given the fact that this song is part of a scene in a musical where the characters are supposed to have fun on the beach, I can imagine that this one is included in the movie. We all have our moments of fluffy enjoyments, don't we? Anyway, I did. Should it be added to the sound track? Per definition yes, per quality no. It would have sufficed if it was one of those left-over we got used to being on FTD and other CDs, just for the fun. Nothing to be taken too seriously.

The real "fun" starts when Ernst and Roger start releasing out takes of such crap. Ernst told that at the start as a fan he wanted to find out how the same singer could be so GOOD and so BAD. And now he just releases EVERYTHING without any respect for the talent and legacy of the great Elvis Aaron Presley. Wonder why????

It's fun. Nothing more...

Its fun & nothing more but started to destroy the King's high quality of recorded output up to that point in time. It started a trend in which the movies songs became less high standard and more tin pan alley schlock. Dominic the Bull was also fun & nothing more 8 years later!

It's not fun. Just a stupid juvenile piece of crap. No stars for this stinker.

Horrible song. Probably Elvis' 1st really awful song. Personally, I do not even find it to be fun--but I also really greatly dislike the movie Blue Hawaii. Within the context of the scene in the movie, I guess it does what was required. Unfortunately, what was required was abysmal. And yet, Elvis sings it as well as it could be sung.

Almost as embarassing as "Old Mcdonald'.

A favourite Elvis film with a beach song which had a exceedingly tenuous link to the plot as many of the film songs were destined to do.

It's NOT fun when I hear it on the BH soundtrack because without the visuals it makes no sense. But when watching the movie with visuals it IS fun.

The nadir of the soundtrack "Blue Hawaii". In the movie, it isn't a great scene and on record you are just thankful it is over in just a minute and 22 seconds . Elvis does as much as he can with it, but this is not a good track. I wonder why a good song like "Steppin' Out Of Line" was cut from the movie and soundtrack and this one wasn't? Elvis must not have liked it's inclusion on the LP as he demanded that RCA not include "Sound Advice" (a similar, but much, much better track) on his next soundtrack release "Follow That Dream". Why did RCA feel a need to release "Barefoot Ballad", "Yoga Is As Yoga Does", "Golden Coins", "Ito Eats" and similar songs on his albums?

This is such a funny, unique and enjoyable song and I never get tired of hearing it. This is by far one of the very best funny songs of all time.

Purposely written for a spot in a film and that's where it should stay. Trying to be like Harry Belafonte may work fairly well in the film but not on record. I see one of our respected members classifies this song with others as one of the film dregs but I beg to disagree vehemently with the inclusion of Golden Coins.- love it

A timeless classic? Absolutely not! Pure crap, not worthy of the tape it was recorded on to be blunt. When I heard this back in 1961 on the original "Blue Hawaii" soundtrack album, I couldn't believe my ears. It stated 14 songs on the front album cover, as if one was getting a real bargain compared to the normal 12 songs usually allotted for an album back in the day. I don't think so. I thought "Big Boots" & "Didja Ever" from "G.I. Blues" was the start of Elvis' recording downfall. This song makes those 2 tunes sound like top 10 hits.

I’m fear of being absolutely slated, I’m going to go totally against the grain here and say a I really like this tune. It makes me feel happy and I’ve always been a sucker for tropical / calypso Elvis I.e Sand Castles, Song of the Shrimp, Drums of the Islands etc. I never skip this song and enjoy without having to watch the movie.

One of those screwy-type numbers that manages to work so wonderfully. Four stars.
