Echoes of Love

Rating:
3.3 / 5

Words & Music: Bob Roberts Paddy McMains

Though you are gone, I still wear your ring
They're playing the song we used to sing
Echoes of love, echoes of love
Are coming to me out of the past

The letters you wrote I treasure them so
And I hear your voice wherever I go
Echoes of love, echoes of love
Are coming to me out of the past

In the rustle of a breeze; in the patter of the rain
In the rushing of the seas, all I hear is your name
Come back my love and once you are near
Darling I know no more will I hear
Echoes of love, echoes of love
'cause you'll be with me right in my heart

Echoes of love, echoes of love
'cause you'll be with me right in my heart

Its pleasant enough but that piano is so annoying. Would have been better on that never to be 1963 studio LP than as a bonus song to a dreadful soundtrack LP.

Not a bad song but hardly a classic I sometimes play it.

Very nice ballad recorded in May of 1963 for an album that was never to be. Instead this song helped upgrade the poor "Kissin' Cousins" LP as a bonus song. It should have been featured on the album and not put near the end of side two. Even better it should have been on a real album.

I like it and altough Floyd Cramer isn't as good here as on for example Judy,i still like the piano. Finally in the 90's we had "the lost album".4 stars.

The backing is a little OTT but the song is beautifully delivered and underated.

Decent ballad. However, not as strong as some of the other ballads from the early sixties

Good song from a great recording session. A session that should have had an album from it!!! First of many mistakes to be made from Elvis' recorded company and the Colonel.

Oh dear, I've just read the reviews of other fans and it seems that i am the odd one out. I don't know why but I generally skip this track when playing the Cd it is on. I just find it boring with Elvis also unable to do anything for the song to make it better. So many better songs / recordings from around the same time. I prefer Love me Tonight, Slowly but Surely, It Hurts Me, Never Ending, What now what Next, Shes not You. etc.

Pleasant song. Well sung. But nothing special.

An ok song. Nothing more. You can`t compare with classics like It Hurts Me from the siame period.

This seems to be a hit or miss song for most people. But its still better than the stuff that was to follow for a while. I remember when the lost album was released & thinking what a quality album it could have been at the time. The piano that irritates a few people on the song is actually a Vibraphone played by Boots Randolph.

Simply a nice ballad well sung by Elvis! I like it as it is!

The weakest recording from the May 1963 sessions and for Elvis standars delivered without feeling. Kind of boring. Two stars from me.

I Love the song. It flows with ease and Elvis sings it perfectly. Would love to see what could be done with some new music, behind the vocals. (A remix overdub).

From Kissin' Cousin's, nothing to write home about. Film song that's it, felt sorry for Elvis having to sing these rubbish song's just to fill Parker's pocket.

A less than complicated innocuous ballad that he sings without getting out of first gear. Pleasant, but not especially memorable although I never skip it.

The piano is played by Floyd Cramer, the vibes by Boots Randolph, who does a wonderful job with it. Check those vibes out. Not a great song, but pleasant.

Love this song. Often the bonus songs were the best songs on the movie soundtracks and this bonus song was one of them.

I don't know why this track reminds me of A Whistling Tune, but it does. It isn't great, but it isn't bad. Elvis' vocal is as flawless and perfect as ever, but the music/arrangement is a little annoying. But I never skip it if it pops up on the shuffle mode on the iPod.

Nice sentimental ballad. Beautiful lyric. Just love this song. Though not often played but worth repeating at least once while it is on play. Elvis' voice was in top notch during this period of time.

This is such a beautiful and underrated ballad and Elvis' rendition of it was marvelous. This song should definitely be much better known than it actually is. I've never skipped it. 5 Stars.

An enjoyable song to listen to and I have to laugh, somebody below said it reminded him or her of "A Whistling Tune" from the movie soundtrack "Kid Galahad". Think they hit the nail on the head. I like it and yes, it's not his best by a long shot but it's not objectionable. If one notices, thru the years Elvis music as a distinctive format whereby the listener can hear the song chord progressions but with different words. Example: "Stuck On You" and "All Shook Up"; interesting, but one thing stands out. The man had a voice and he could sing.

This is a song I often skip, not the best of the so called bonus songs, I am sure others will like it.

Lovely, pleasant song that I enjoy. Certainly not in the worst of the 63 sessions camp. I also feel it sits at home on the KC album. Personally I’m on the fence re studio content being used as bonus songs, I see both sides but this For the asking shelved album would have been a monster as would the shelved 63 tour.
