Thankyouverymuch!

February 16, 2023 | Other

After more than 25 years Elvis-related activity on the internet, we're done with it. What was a much enjoyed hobby became a burden the last year. So we say well meant ‘thank you for all the support over the years’ and hope you'll find your 'news' elsewhere!

We'll keep this site alive for reference the coming years and below are some suggestions to stay up to date!

Loes & Lex

We will certainly miss this site and your work, Loesje. For years ElvisNews was my browser's home page, where I would get all the information I needed about new releases, etc., until more alternatives became available, including discussion forums. Although I don't visit this site as often as I used to, I still like to check out the SongBase section to see what subscribers (old and new) have to say about the vast catalog of songs Elvis Presley left us. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors; it's been a good few years (2 decades, can you imagine?) and thanks for this labor of love... "Until we meet again, adiós!"

You will be sadly missed - I looked at your site every single day - even if only to check out the song of the day... I'll also miss your reviews which were vital for my decision whether to purchase or not! I think you saved me thousands! Adios!

This site has become my daily routine and it will feel very strange not looking at the song of the day and reading other fans opinions on new releases etc. Thanks for the hard work you’ve put in to making my day every day.

The legacy of Elvis should live on, if only the toxic bigots get a life outside of the Elvis bubble. It's been fun, and I have enjoyed meeting with you guys. 25 years ago it was a different time and there was so much to look forward to even if Elvis was no longer with us. There won't be another movie, there will be more vinyl and CDs of material that we already have, and books that are so heavy no shelf will be strong enough. Be proud of your outreach. Todd

I've been paying almost a daily visit since many years ago, maybe not your 25 years on the net but very close. I haven't found yet any other Elvis related website which provides better info and I've always liked your comments and appreciated your opinions. It's sad but totallu understandable so I wish you the best of luck and happinness in years to come. Thankyouverymuch for your wonderful job!

Wow! Didn't see that coming. Thank You so much for all of your efforts thru the years! You will be missed. Wishing you the best for your new activities!

Well today was already a disappointing one for me, and now I read this. Fully understand your decision, but being selfish wished it hadn't happened as this site was my continual escapism for years. At least 'our boy' is flying high with new audiences so it was probably a timely way to exit. Heartfelt thanks for all your efforts, and good luck to both of you..

Thank you Loes and Lex. This site has seen me through two bouts of cancer, broken relationships, the loss of my parents and many other difficult times. My daily visit to Elvisnews was always a nice way to escape my troubles if only for a short time. Lex, I appreciate you letting me contribute a couple of articles and I am grateful for the interactions with great Elvis fans (Benny Scott, Gorse, SteveV, dgirl, etc). We didn't always agree, but we always agreed that when he was at his best, there was no one like Elvis Presley. This sight will be missed by me and many others and while I completely understand that the site has become a burden, I selfishly wish it could last for 20 more years. Best of luck to you and Loes. Elvisnews has left the building, thank you and good night.

This sad to hear, but I can understand you. It's a lot of work to keep this site up to date. I have been here for I think about 15 years and like all the other visitors I have found many interesting news, infos of what will be coming out and a lot of different views from people who sawthings through their eyes. So to me it was great to have this site and it's sad to hear it will be over. Thank you very much for your work and I wish you all the best for your lifes.

It has been a long and fun ride Lex and Loes, I still have good memories of the first ten years when I was part of the original team. Everything was new and all had to be invented. For those who will miss this site, I continue what I did for ElvisNews on ElvisDayByDay.com (link above is broken). Yes ElvisNews has left the building, but part of it found a new place to dwell!

Wow, I didn't see that coming at all! I've been regularly browsing this site for over 20 years, although I seldom made comments. Thank you Lex and Loes for all the time, work and love you've put into this website for so long! And thank you for keeping this site alive for the coming years, so we can still access all the information. Theo

It's not nice to let us down like this after so many years. But I get it, you want to move on. I too have been coming to read you for years and I greatly appreciated your work and your passion which is also ours: Elvis! I hope you can keep the site accessible for a long time. Thank you. Alex

Lex and Loes it's sad that these things must come to an end. I was surprised that you kept going for so long after considering pulling the pin back in 2010. As much as we love him, there's more to life than Elvis (and I'm sure he would agree), and I hope this closing of EN will mean and enriched life for you both. I'll miss all the interaction and argy bargy from Lex and all other fans here whether we agreed or not. I'm also grateful for the axing of certain individuals when exchanges got really ugly. This adventure will be sadly missed. Hope to see many of you on the 'collectors only' thread. God bless you all!

I'll miss this site, and it's members. More than 25 years, ain't it funny how time slips away! Thank you for your hard work and commitment.

Ohhh, this is really sad news! I go to the site regularly to check reviews and opinions about new releases. It has been very useful for me for years. I definitely think it is the best independent Elvis site for Elvis related news. Will truly be missed!! I wish it still could go on for some years. Maybe someone else could administrate it? Best of luck to you guys and thanks for all the work you've been putting into this page.

I have followed this site for a long long time. Though I don't comment I do value and appreciate the comments, knowledge and opinions of most people on this site, especially the Editors and of course Cisco King. Where will I be able to get Cisco Kings valuable inside insights on releases in the future? Thank you for your dedication. You will be missed all the way to Denmark. All the best Martin

Please, if you can keep going. We love your site. I check it on Twitter everyday to see what song etc and then go to the site to sign in for the news. I understand if it’s really hard and perhaps you’re not getting enough traffic but I personally would love it if you stayed. God bless.
