I've already pre-ordered mine! Can hardly wait. 'Pot Luck' has been a favorite of mine since it first came out. 'Girls, Girls, Girls' has its moments too!

Mine are also pre-ordered. I hope the slight delay does not mean not being released on time.

May the ...Fountain of Love...be enjoyed by everyone who has ordered Pot Luck......One of the best cd's ......Also Heart and Soul, hope this is the next release....

I am looking forward to Girls! Girls! Girls! many great songs! POT LUCK is also a Superb Album. ELVIS' voice in the early 60s is the BEST.

The cover art is quit nice.
Harvey Alexander wrote on November 03, 2007
The cover art has been "quit" nice since 1962, though Elvis does look a bit like he's made out of plastic on G!G!G!

Not one of my favorite pictures. Makes you wonder who had the final word on some of the origional album covers.

One should Listen to otis blackwell doing elvis tunes after all he wrote them, great stuff. i wonder who was the original.

During Elvis' lifetime I bought every official U.S. RCA release. Never once did I care about the cover photo. I still don't. I've read in several places that the "Colonel" had final say on the cover photos used. Not saying it's true, but I've read that. Looking forward to receiving these releases.

Pot Luck looks good. Seems to me that FTD were not able to find the missing GGG tapes. Shame as the release appears to be a little 'lightweight' in terms of value for money not too dis-similar to the Viva Las Vegas release. Lets hope that the missing tapes are not found in the next 12 months which necessitates a further 'updated' release.

That is why Girls Girls Girls should have been held back, release it last, sorry but to me it makes no sence,id like to have seen a regular release from FTD,Are they planning a On Tour box set? This is a very secreative label!

Personally, I think they should do all the albums that will fall into public domain within the next year...'King Creole', 'Jailhouse Rock', 'Elvis'...the recordings without copyright protection are going to be flooding the market...it would be a good idea to have official releases before that happens. Anyone know where there's a cd with an alternate take of 'So Glad You're Mine'???

Getting Pot Luck, skipping GGG. 5 versions of Mama, no thanks!
mature_elvis_fan75 wrote on November 05, 2007
There are far better ideas than releasing GGG,i see it only as a chance to cash in some more,im skipping these 2 releases for now,i might get pot luck in a little while, but no thanks on GGG for me either!
Ton Bruins wrote on November 05, 2007
This time I will skipp both. Not much unreleased material on "Pot Luck" all though I like most of the songs... and "Girls, Girls, Girls"..well not my kind of songs..
JerryNodak wrote on November 05, 2007
Steve V: 5 versions of "Mama." I say, Wunderbar!! Ton Bruins: Passing up "Pot Luck?" The sound is almost certain to be so much better than what we've had before on previous releases of these songs.
Steve V wrote on November 05, 2007
Jerry - Its not just Mama. Aside form the title track, Sender, & Comin In Loaded I'm no big fan of this soundtrack. I feel this is when the Elvis' movies & soundtrack albums really started to take a turn for the worse. The formula had been established and with the exception of Viva Las Vegas, never really improved.
Ton Bruins wrote on November 06, 2007
Well Jerry let's see and wait what the sound quality will be..maybe I will buy it after all..sometimes I wait with buying a FTD release until the first reviews..lol...
JerryNodak wrote on November 06, 2007
Ton Bruins: I base my optimism about improved sound on the info that Sebastian J. and Vic Anesini have done the audio improvements on these two projects. No Lene R. I believe I read it on FECC.
Harvey Alexander wrote on November 06, 2007
I'm so disappointed there are no outtakes of 'Song Of The Shrimp'. It's easily one of his best recordings, along with 'Padre', 'Hey Hey Hey', 'House Of Sand', 'My Way', 'Yoga Is As Yogi Does' and 'Life'.
Steve V wrote on November 06, 2007
Harvey - How can you omit Queenie Wahini's Papaya? All kidding aside, I missed a few Mama's at first glance. Now I count 13 versions. Id rather outtakes of Song Of The Shrimp!

Unfortunately most of the session tapes for GGG were lost! I guess Ernst has given up the search and thus releasing GGG with what he has found. Even though I have most of the material from Pot Luck, I still want it! I simply love the Classic album series. There's not a single FTD release that slips by me!!
