1957 Footage Of Elvis At Graceland

August 19, 2007 | Other
New home movie footage of Elvis at Graceland from June 1957 has been discovered. The footage from the Davidson family shows Elvis trying to get his tractor stuck in the mud at Graceland and a man (resembling Colonel Parker, but it isn't him) stopping at the gates to greet the kids.

Excellent stuff. It makes you wonder how much more of this similar type of footage may be out there. That ISN'T "Colonel" Tom!!

Great stuff, but I think that may be an uncle of Elvis's and not Col. Parker. I could be wrong though. TCB!

Ooops. First post for me. I love that this clip was found and shared. I think that probably IS Parker because my face sneered at him the whole time I watched. ;-) I'm betting it is Parker, it looks like every picture I ever saw of the old carney.

That's Colonel Parker. You have to remember this was 1957. (Much younger Parker) The Colonel always smiled at Elvis' fans and was very good to them. Take one guess why. Anybody, anybody? Anyway, super video. Your right, I hope they find more video. E looks fab.

First of all : You Tube makes a mistake claiming " Elvis at Graceland 1956" !! At first I didn't pay attention, but as Elvis News announced it as " footage from June 1957, I sent E.N. an e-mail asking who was right. ( Foolish me, as I could have checked myself in what year Elvis bought Graceland, as I didn't know the year by heart) The answer was ( of course ) 1957. Secondly : this is NOT Tom Parker. Check the pictures of the period 1957 in many many books, and you'll find this is NOT the " Colonel", even if he was many years younger at the time. I've checked it and I'm abolutely sure it is not him ( very, very different mouth ). Nevertheless, fantastic footage, and a great view of the true colors of the music-gates in 1957.

Doubt its the Colonel. When did u ever see him behind the wheel of a car driving into Graceland? It doesnt make sense. Also he looks too happy & friendly. All in all, nice footage!

Great footage. It takes you to a genuine world like a time capsule. And though it´s only Elvis on a tractor, we all feel warm inside bout it :) Strange what those little things in life can do.

Okay so Elvis had an uncle that bore an uncanny resemblance to Parker? That's doubtful. And just why wouldn't Parker be seen driving a car or leaving Graceland? Odd how everyone seems to know everything but nobody seems to be able to agree on one simple home video. I've spent the last 8 months reading everything I could get my hands on and looking at every picture available and I still stand by my claim that that IS Tom Parker, the old slime bucket himself. jmho....
