Tickle Me - Hollywood Classics DVD Release

July 20, 2006 | Video
Set for release in the "Hollywood Classics" series is the movie "Tickle Me". This release should be region free and NTSC standard.

From the information we received:

The picture quality is definitely best available as far. Much better than on previous VHS versions. Picture is sharper and colours are more realistic than before. The format of the picture is nearly 14:9.

Also the sound is much better than on previously released "Charro" movie - less hiss, real hi-fi quality. However there are some drop-outs in sound in the fist minutes of the movie- acceptable due to the age of the material.

The DVD is again equipped with bonus material - nice picture gallery and - chapter for every songs - nice touch, you can go directly to any song included in the movie. The moving menu itself is very impressive. The cover is of a standard quality, in the line of Hollywood Classics releases.

This is wonderful news. Sure am looking forward to this. This under rated TICKLE ME was actually one of Elvis most entertaining movie in the mid-60s and ALL the songs in it are excellent. Can't wait to add this to my Elvis Movie DVD Library. Another under rated movie that should be on DVD is the excellent GIRL HAPPY.

Tickle Me deserves to be one of the top movies El ever made, It saved UA from going under when released. I remember in Australia it played to full houses each screening. The movie critics even loved the movie praising the comedy. A classic from an era when most of the latter movies were uninspiring. WELL DONE ELVIS.Pity Management didn't have more regards for your acting ability.

On the basis that this is an official release, which film company is putting this out. I thought Warner's were doing this as they had the trailer on one of their other DVD's. I can't see any Warner logos on the box!! In the desription above, comparisons are made against the Charro release, but wasn't this a back door job. I'm rather dubious about this release.

This is the last Elvis film for me to collect, then I've got them all, yippee!

I'd like to see all of Elvis' movies on DVD but this one looks like it was shot on a $100.00 budget. This and Kissin Cousins were very poorly made and started the King's movie downfall.

Tickle Me is a fun movie! Good songs...a different kind of plot (well, somewhat akin to Roustabout, but set on a dude ranch instead of a carnival). Kissin Cousins is one of my favorite Elvis movies...one I can watch over and over again. The comedy in it is great. Tommy Farrell, Arthur O'Connell, Yvonne Craig, Glenda Farrell and all those 'Kittyhawks' make this a fun movie to watch. The songs, for the most part, are pretty good too. "Tender Feeling", "Once Is Enough", "Catching On Fast". ICBM...funny stuff. It isn't "King Creole" or "Jailhouse Rock", but it is good fun. As a matter of fact, I think I'm going to pop it in and watch it now!

I just asked prices in Finland. One place sells it for 25 euros and another 19,90 euros.
