This photo was taken with a camera strapped to a rifle stock. The photographer (Sean Shaver) took the picture by pulling a trigger, just like firing a real gun. This was the first night the photographer used it. Elvis saw it, looked at him and yelled, "Don't shoot." Then he bent over to get a closer look at his "camera." As he bent over the photographer shot him again.
