I don't think so, we saw another cover of these 2 separate cd's in the past... I hope they release it this month, it should be out about half a year ago. i'm looking forward to these cd's!! Come on guys, no kidding anymore, release them at last!

misquote: "I hate to say strictly country, because of the fact.. etcetera

Actually, Jerome, they are NOT misquoting. The title is a reference to a comment Elvis made during the June Nashville sessions in 1970 (heard before an outtake of "There Goes My Everything") and not the Houston Press Conference as you imply.

This is a great cover! Looks like himself most of the time he was singing. Very strong, very determined.

Arent all these songs available with all the RCA & FTD (and about to be ) releases from these sessions? Whats the point of buying this? How can anyone be excited about this? Again paying for the same stuff over & over.

Great to see this release . I did buy, back in the 80s the lp’s and later the cds. Finally a serious approach to these acetates. I’m lucky enough to possess a few and know that these are different from what’s been out. Many did throw them away and they were cheap at the time , nowadays they could raise $5.000 for a song cause they discovered that most acetates are unique. A onetime mix of a song which often changed a few times, instruments whereset differently or removed. These on the spot mixes often got lost. (you’ll hear mistakes too hahah.) Yes I’m very curious. Ofcourse I compared the “That’s the way it is “and “love letters “ tracklists of FTD. On the,” You know it don’t have to be strictly country”. cd they used different takes and with my knowledge I expect different versions. They did “Vegas Rhythm” also and that was a big surprise too all of use. If they just hurry up with this one and Love letters , and making sure Volume 2 is not taking as long as Volume 1 did. I’m having one of the best vacations ever. Kind of like the title bit long but it tells what the content is country songs with a rock favour. Hope they use the cover which was on some message board a little while ago.

I really got to have this cd as soon as possible!

Steve, I'm still waiting for someone more informed than you or I to respond, but to my knowledge, RCA and FTD have generally steered away from releasing acetates (with some exceptions) and while rough sounding, they often have a mix that is unique to the acetate as well as including other rare bits to otherwise familar material. Cisco is as hard as anyone on subpar or bogus import releases ( at least hardest among those who actually care about imports) but seems to have given this an enthusiastic thumbs up. Do tell, Cisco.
