Videoshow 2013 Too

October 23, 2011 | Other

It looks like Elvis is set to continue to tour well into 2013. On their web site, SEG EVENTS has the Elvis show listed twice under the current events. First up is the current show that is touring the world: Elvis Presley In Concert 2011 / 2012 & it looks like 2012 will see the end of "In Concert". Lower down the list is Elvis again, this time with the newer, colour design and the show has had a name change, now it is called "Elvis Presley Live - The King In Concert 2013". So it looks like we will see Elvis still touring the world via the big screen and a live band for the next couple of years at least...

But how many of the original bandmates will be involved? These guys are almost 80!

I agree with Jack. I have got my ticket for 2012 in Manchester England and have seen the show a couple of times already, one wonders for how long the " original " cast can go on for. Many many years i hope

For me the original concept has now gone as so many of the original band are no longer with us or unable to perform due to ill health. Unfortunately, the cash cow has to continue, but not for me I'm afraid. Well, not unless they come up with some stunning, new , never seen before video footage....Dreaming again!

The hard core of this - ELVIS - will never change. And to see that on hugh screen(s) is fabulous on its own. Indeed one may wonder how many of the original support group will be there. Some are still very active, others however have passed on or are incapacitated to join. A new concept using the lastest technoloies would of course be an enrichment, though it basically and primarily circumambulates Elvis' performance. Thoigh I have seen it several time by the I will not skip it if possible (and being around myself at that time). I never get tired of seeing and hearing the King.

For me, Elvis is the main part of this show and I do not particularly care if the original musicians and singers are not involved. They have done their bit brilliantly but no longer have the energy to do Elvis proud. One can hardly hear James Burton's guitar at these concerts. Most of the Sweet Inspirations are either dead or cannot stand up on stage for long and if you look closely at the 'EIvis Lives' DVD you will see one Sweet Inspiration telling the others what the words to the songs are. I suspect the 2013 Concerts will not featue the originals but new and younger session musicians. It worked this year in Memphis where most of the audience thought the sound was amazing.

Brian, The show last August was AMAZING! I thought the new players and singers were OUTSTANDING. I think this is the show that we will see touring new year. Hopefully, it will play lots of US cities.

'ElvisMatters' is proud to announce more shows for ELVIS THE CONCERT, featuring the TCB Band, Joe Guercio and the Imperials. It looks like France is on the list for the 28th of March, as the closing show for the first 2012 tour. Also, a stop in Copenhagen/Stockholm on the 24th is "very likely". In May (14-24) of 2012 the Video show will be playing in South America (Brazil and Chile) for 3 or 4 shows.

Brian... So you say there would be no sweet inspirations for this new tour? But they did a perfect sound at Radio Music Hall in Newyork. ???

They've already been figuring out some new technology w Elvis on a"3D" type of sheer/see-thru curtain, not just on a giant screen...and it sounded like, from what Ive read, that its gonna be REALLY COOL! My guess is that they will eventually find a way to also make it look like Elvis is actually walking around on the stage, kind of like "projection prisms" or something similar---kind of like they have at most Ripleys Believe It or Not museums, of Ripley talking to visitors as they come in, only better!! Now THAT would be unbelieveably, intensely COOL!!

Reply to Sirbalkan. I do not have information as to whether the Sweet Inspirations will be part of the 'new tour' or not. However, I do believe they will be part of the early 2012 European Concerts, together with the remaining members of the TCB Band/Imperials etc.
