Vegas Variety Vol. 4

To be released December 31, 2010: Rainbow Records presents Volume 4 of their series “Vegas Variety”, featuring the complete performance of August 12, 1973 midnight show at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel, Nevada.

Although James Burton was playing the first few guitar licks of “American Trilogy” Elvis asked for the guitar chord “C” only to surprise everybody – both the audience and the TCB band members – with a complete version (1:30 min) of the song “Crying Time”. This might well be an unexpected highlight of the show, but it is certainly not the only one. Elvis was clearly in a very good and relaxed mood this evening and delivered a very fine set. About the sound: The producers did not remaster the show from the first Import CD release of this concert (Crying Time In Vegas - originally released in 1994). They got a new source with noticeably better sound compared to the release from sixteen years ago. Needless to say that the booklet has a lot of pictures and information on its 20 pages.

It should even be worthwhile for those who have the old boot. A new tape has been found and the show is complete now.
This also means better sound and correct speed.
