you know what book i wish they would release? the book elvis wanted to write about his life called "Through My Eyes". everyone says its impossible and yada yada. but is it really impossible? hell we have many interviews of elvis over the years starting in 1954 right to the end. why not piece them all together in an audio book or have someone whos very talented write the things elvis said into a book. that would be very interesting. it would be like elvis was back talking to us from the grave. to me it would be magical. especially to here him speak on his opinion on war protesters and whenter or not he would refuse to be drafted. and many other tidbits over the years and his view on how his life was and what he sees for himself 9n the future. and at the end they can use the final words he spoke on stage "Till we meet again may god bless you adios"

Nice idea. I am sure I will read this as our fanclub purchases every book and we all take turns. You have to read the book to have an intelligent discussion and trash it.

A book co-written by the infamous Dr. Nick? Not for me, pls... To Mofoca22 - If you want suck a book, pls read "ELVIS IN HIS OWN WORDS" by Mick Farren (sold at Amazon for instance).

It's almost hard to find words anymore to describe all of these books. But we only have the fans (public) to blame because apparently people are buying them. I have just finished reading 2 excellent books about Elvis & his lasting effect on music & our culture. Both books are very educational, contains a lot of history about music as well as his musical outlook, and puts into historical perspective the wonderful legacy he became. No, there isn't any gossip or discussions about drugs (ho hum). Even American History magazine's latest issue with him on the cover tells a wonderful story about Elvis being the biggest influence on music & culture during the 50's thereby putting him up there on a sociological level with the 1954 decision in this country "Bd of Education v. Brown". However, since it isn't likely that anyone is about to write a current book about anything other than the same old shit, it looks like one may have to resort to decent books written back in the late 80's, early 90's. Otherwise, happy reading (I guess).

Perhaps the title should be changed to " The man who killed Elvis" . It never ceases to amaze me how a medical professional could allow abuse to so called friend. Certainly, we were not there to witness what actually went on. Dr. Nick & friends must need the money. Simply another " best friend " telling his story for money.

It may be interesting what Dr. Nick has to say. I will criticize the book after reading it. As an Elvis fan I am interested in his opinion what had really happen but I have also my point of view and I will not believe in some crap stories (vide Goldman or The Stanley’s). Maybe he wants to apologize … who knows? The only thing that really annoys me is the fact that everybody have so many things to say first: because of the anniversary and second: Elvis is not with us so haw can we know if something is true or not?
