Two New Import Titles

December 04, 2003 | Music
We received an email mentioning 2 new bootleg titles. According to the covers one will contain a soundboard recording of the Tuscaloosa show on August 30, 1976 and the other... maybe the 1980 "let's "screw" Elvis"-sessions? We have no idea if these are CDs or CDRs.

Tracklisting "Cutting Loose In Tuscola" according to ECB Forum:
Intro/CC Rider / I Got A Woman/Amen / Treat Me Like a Fool / If You Love Me / You Gave Me A Mountain / All Shook Up / Teddy Bear/Don't be Cruel / And I Love You So / Jailhouse Rock / Fever / America The Beautiful / Band Intros / Early Moring Rain / What'd I Say / Johnny B. Goode / Band Intros / Love Letters / Long Live Rock'n'Roll / Hurt / Hound Dog / My Heavenly Father (Kathy Westmoreland) / Mystery Train-Tiger Man / Can't Help Falling In Love / Closing Vamp

(Also released as "Old Times They Are Not Forgotten", "Tuscaloosa Night" and "One Night In Alabama").

Tracklisting "Guitar Man Sessions" (as found on eBay).

Hi On the track listing for "Guitar Man Sessions" it lists Stay Away Joe Takes 1-4, 6-15. Should this be Stay Away and not Stay Away Joe?

I actually really like listening to some of the stuff done in 1980. Jerry Reed did a new solo for Guitar Man which is his song anyway and I love it!! Listening to FTDs Too Much Monkey Business release they certainly put the best stuff on the original album although I think the 'new' take on Burning Love was quite commendable. Not sure what new stuff this release could contain but hey, time will tell. In any case they certainly didn't 'Screw with Elvis'!!

Hi, these releases are already out and you can get them via Ebay. Real CDs and "The Guitarman Sessions" contains the original Guitarman session. These are beautiful digipack CDs in stunning soundquality. Go and get them if you can!!

What the Hell is the "let's screw Elvis" sessions??! Are those the sessions in which they redid the backing tracks on "Guitar Man" etc and put him back on the charts even though he'd been dead for a few years? Yeah....really screwed him there. I was in 7th grade at the time and I remember several classmates being introduced to Elvis through that record. I don't know if any of them became long time fans, but it certainly earned him some respect and notice from people who'd never have bothered. I hate that mentality that if you try to update Elvis' music for a new generation, that you are "screwing" Elvis somehow. It's like colorizing a movie--if you don't like it, watch the original! ElvisNews: we corrected the use of "screw".
