Please. Not again. Another useless compilation for the general public. Good luck on pushing this. I doubt if it sells in any quanity as most of we diehards have this stuff at least three times over. Enough.

Elvis would have been 75 years old and they come up with this ??? Sad...not for the fans...would have it been a surprise when they came up with a desent On Tour or Elvis In Concert DVD...

This will appeal to the general public much more than an Elvis On Tour release or heaven forbid Elvis In Concert. Only the fans on this site or other die hards care about those releases, not the general fan at which this is aimed. The label by now knows the general public only care about a good compilation when it comes to Elvis, even if that since the idea has been done to death.

Slightly off subject to this release, but I am really getting fed up with the continuing comments about getting the release of On Tour & In Concert. The poor sales of the revamped TTWII (a vastly superior film that showed Elvis at his peak) probably put the nail in the coffin of On Tour. The split screens lose impact on TV, so the whole thing would need a revamp, and it's doubtful MGM/Warners or whoever hold the rights will spend money on that. Being filmed on 16mm doesn't help, so no Blu Ray here either and I serioulsy doubt there are enough die hard fans to warrant the release. The general public wouldn't give a damn about either of these being released. In fact the release of In Concert would just give the press an excuse to ridicule Elvis once again.

On tour should be released in the right way like they did with the Aloha, that should help. Not promese the fans a lot of stuff and give them almost nothing like they did with the TTWII Spec. ed. Everybody knows that this release could be much better, there is so much stuff on the shelf still. Like the Aloha the TTWII should have two editions. What they released so far is the short edition, still waiting fo the extended edition. I know for sure, if they do On Tour the right way with the right promotion it will sell for sure.

The general public must be overloaded by releases like this by now. BMG seem to release a new 'Greatest Hits' CD every couple of months. Flooding the market this way doesn't help an artists sales, it hinders them. Any newbie going into a shop and seeing all the 'Best Of' sets available will only be confused as to what to buy.

More whiners and moaners!!! This is the same as the UK version and that is about to become Elvis' biggest album hit in the UK for some time - Tesco already has it as a new entry at number 15 in their chart after just a couple of days of becoming available.

As of today (6th) 'Elvis 75' is No.21 in the UK Midweek Album Chart and likely to get near the Top 10 by the end of the week.

Yes, you can now get a Top 10 CD by selling 537 copies at Tesco's. And I'll have some Rice Krispies with that too, please.

Harvey, are you really that ignorant or is it an act? Aretailer with 13.1% of all UK retail sales - and incidentally, the 2nd biggest retailer (in sales value) of cds and dvds in the UK.

As of today (7th) 'Elvis 75' is now Top 20 in the UK.

I am very pleased to report that 'Elvis 75' is No.8 on the UK Album Chart. By going Top 10 it will be eligible for a further week's TV promotion.

So what is going on? "Elvis 75" is a four CD set with 100 songs released by Sony. Same name "Elvis 75" is a three CD set with 75 songs also released by Sony. Both have the same picture on the front. Can someone explain? Does Elvis stuff sell so well and so easily that the marketing is left to chimpanzees? (Sorry chimps, low blow). I've posted this message on a number of articles because "Elvis 75" has turned up all over the place. PS. The music is still great!
