Bad news, I was hoping for another '69 concert !
Iron Man wrote on June 17, 2007
same on my behalf, Herman, but now we can easily skip this one without having to buy more of the same material for the millionth time... Let's hope some more of the '69 and '70 stuff comes out soon on the FTD label...

What we're really short of is '71 material

I've already got the earlier release, Elvis: "Live." So don't need this. Wouldn't have bought it even if it had a second disc with another '69 concert.

Another short change release with only 16 tracks! No doubt the CD will be reissued in the future with the extra unreleased show!

I was going to buy this for the '69 concert but now I don't need to because there's no '69 concert and therefore nothing on it I haven't already got. Oh well.

what kind of release is this? Good songs but it brings nothing new. And the title and first track Viva LA? Just bad promotion

How stupid it is to use the original version of "Viva Las Vegas" as an intro? Won't buy this without the '69-concert

do these people think we are retarded i remeber the same tracks on that elvis in vegas cd from last year minus viva las vegas. screw that. where is the 1971 stuff like someone said? bring that stuff on that was a great year in my opinion id love to hear concerts and other studio rleases from that year on one album. instead of seeing bits and pieces of them on cd's scattered with songs from different years and genres

I think more on the line of them being retarded...

What a horrible horrible release. It is so mindless and utterly redundant and useless and pointless. Why do we need yet another compilation album? And do we need more of the Vegas Elvis? Isn't that going to diminish Elvis' reputation? Moreover, all the 1969 songs are covers. There are no Elvis originals or classics to give the music context. Elvis opened his shows with Blue Suede Shoes. Here we get Elvis doing B.J. Thomas without Elvis originals. This guy is supposed to be the guru and "expert" of Elvis, learnin' us about Elvis and reinventing him. Like we need a guy from Denmark for that. Just learnin' us about Elvus. Well, it don't take no Danish "expert" to figure out that this compilation is horrid and worthless and a waste of time. It is a horrible horrible release or "escape" as Elvis would say. Why does anyone need this release?

It's a tie-in with the ABC Special of the same name to be aired in September, not more and not less!

Another beautiful shame for SONY/BMG for this anniversary year....

This is absolutely mindless. A studio version of Viva Las Vegas opening an CD of live Elvis cover versions. Yeah this will do a lot to silence the Elvis critics! Who is running things at the record label these days? Do they even understand who Elvis is?

What i dont understand is the confusion over the 2 cd set that is said to be released in only certain countries, when you follow the links to amazon it has the price for one cd not a 2 cd set, and the release date shows july 31,and has no tracklisting, people are going to get the wrong cd and have to deal with sending cd's back ,all because things are run like theres a mad man in charge,as for via las vegas opening the cd that shouldnt be in the first place, thats classic! lol
