SONY / BMG will re-issue Elvis' three gospel albums "His Hand In Mine", "How Great Thou Art" and " He Touched Me" on March 11, 2008.

Let Us Pray is a religious song that the record label could had placed on one of these possibly How Great Thou Art. What in the world is Sony/BMG thinking.

Yes, and Crying In The Chapel belongs on His Hand In Mine, and Life could have been added to He Touched Me. I think we have to remember that these are put out by people who a) don't know Elvis' recorded catalogue very well, and b) don't have the time or interest to research.

There are a couple of stragglers they could have added like Saved, If That Isn't Love, Why Me Lord, and Miracle of The Rosary. If your going to do it, do it right.

This is the way of treating Elvis catalogue, not those countless gospel compilations. No matter what, it's very good news, since those Amazing Albums deserve to be in reach of everyone that enters a Record Shop.

I can see the logic in the selection of "bonus songs" on the first two, but can't understand why they wouldn't include Miracle Of The Rosary on He Touched Me. It was recorded at the May/June 1971 sessions that produced the He Touched Me album.

Perhaps the question of why "Satisfied" is not included is meant to be ironic. If it is a genuine question, the answer is that the tape cannot be found even if it still exists. Regarding "Crying In The Chapel", although it was recorded during the "His Hand In Mine" sessions the first time is was on an LP was "How Great Thou Art". It's a difficult situation, as someone that remembers the original LP sequence I would prefer it on a shop version of "How Great Thou Art". On the FTD edition, it is rightfully on "His Hand In Mine".

Here we go again, playing around with the original track line ups. I bet they wouldn't DARE add, say "Yellow submarine" or "Please, please me" to the "Sergeant Pepper" album!! And who wants to buy these when we already have "Amazing grace" AND "Peace in the valley" - TWO "complete" gospel collections!! Also, these WILL come out on FTD, more complete and with bonus out-takes.

Who is running this label? rerelease? why it was already in print? i can imagine a new fan trying to buy All of Elvis music,wouldnt take long to get confused would it? do you see the beatles or other major artist or groups managed this way? all of ELvis original albums should be out there and not the cheap import crap like the Elvis collection that has cheap covers and takes out half the artwork with its tacky design!

People need to stop complaining. Re-releasing these Elvis CDs.. brings attention to the CD at retail and to the consumer. And by adding more songs, gives the buyer, a longer playing CD. " A better value for his or her money". All the songs added, to these "original albums" in this case are good choices. And Remember, these Re-releases, are "intended" for the casual buyer who may not want to buy an "expensive boxset". Getting Elvis Music to the mainstream public.. is important.

Of note.. I'd like to have New cover photos for all three albums which I know alot of fans, will disagree with. I was never "fond of" the "His Hand in Mine" and "How Great Thou art" Album covers. There are better photos from both "photo sessions"..

I agree with GK. This is a good idea. Right now the only way for folks to get the gospel songs are expensive compilations, box sets and FTD. This is a way back to the mainstream. I hope some of the other classic albums follow. Elvis was a mainstream kind of artist. This helps. The additional songs make a lot of sense also.
