with 4 albums , that's 663228 (& counting) units to add to the certified total.
1 BILLION SOLD wrote on August 22, 2011
jean, unfortunately with the ignorant way that the RIAA keeps their records, NOT ONE of these will be counted!! They only recognize sales AFTER the sales of each title reaches the 500,000 units, 1,000,000 units and so on. Just when they award it a gold, platinum, or multi-platinum disc. So if an album sells 499,999, the RIAA counts that album w sales of ZERO! Or if it sold 999,999, it gets credit for 500,000-Can you believe that??!!! All sales in between those awards dont exist in their eyes. Thats why THEY still dont have Elvis as the all time top seller because he had so many more releases than the 2 above him, that Elvis sales stats in the U.S. are shorted by literally 60-70 million albums alone!

I would like to add to what Brian Quinn , who I greatly admire for his non- stop work in defending Elvis, left out on the numbers that he gave, and that is, they are from the U.S. only, and that Brooks made comfy deals with big box stores like walmart to get his records out. I am also in complete agreement with jack 409 on riaa and billboard and would like to add Rolling Stone mag to the list.
