The Official Elvis Presley Magazine

July 29, 2004 | Other
The August / September edition of the official Elvis Presley magazine has a lot of reviews and articles. The “Conspiracy or Paranoia” article on how Elvis and his heritage are dealt with by historians and journalists is one we recognize. The memories of people who met Elvis are always interesting, especially when told in a pleasant way.

It is very colourful and printed on high quality paper BUT it is now almost an Elvis Sales Catalogue. Todd Slaughter has slipped on this Fan Club magazine and also on Elvis Today. I no longer subscribe to these anymore.

In answer to carols coments ! you did not miss much the foc dvd doesnt even match the dvd. the dvd has ETTWIS & Aloha From Hawaii on the same disc I was expecting just ETTWII on its own and the price well I agree with you I have seen it for at least £15/£20 cheaper in other shops so it isnt free then . Also Elvis Today I have rec my latest copy and included was a free promo of some sun songs not very good in my opinion as i have just purchased Elvis At Sun and I guess so have alot of people. ps this cd (e&s) is available also in vinyl from HMV at a good price Ithink this will be a better collectors item than the foc cd from ETT. And in answer to CD King yes great cover little else todds always going on abouy EPE but if this mag doesnt change in the near future it will go the same way as Elvis Monthly there are to many good mags on his heels and they will take his place as the no one Elvis mag

I agree. The Fan Club magazine is really just a catalogue these days and everything is over-priced. They were charging £50 plus £7 postage for the Comeback/Aloha DVDs with the promise of a "free" copy of the original TTWII on DVD; except that they didn't have enough to go round! I was sent an empty box! Needless to say, they got the whole lot back and I asked for a refund. The whole Fan Club set-up has changed dramatically and standards have reached rock bottom. As a member of 30 years' standing, I too have re-joined for the last time unless there is a dramatic improvement.
