Thanks, Marty. Old Shep is obviously better than Beach Shack or Doing The Clam!

The title could be appropriate if they mean Adriano is King of Rock 'n' Roll in Italy but I doubt if that is the case anyway. To continue the 'Old Shep' arguement here are some facts. The song was written by Red Foley one of the most successful country singers of his era and was based on a true story about his dog. Elvis performed it in the Tupelo talent contest for which he won fifth place. Elvis recorded it in 1956 because he liked it. With this particular song I am 100% convinced that it was his personal choice. As far as the quality of the song, well opinions differ but for me it is far better than some of the movie songs he HAD to record during the later part of the '60's.

It is rude to trash a song that someone else might like it just because you don't. Old Shep may not be a great song but it is a very old song, very meaningful to some people who have ever bonded with a dog (pet) & lost it. Personally, I think Hound Dog is the most stupid song I've ever heard. I didn't like it when it first came out & I am never going to like it. Talk about meaningless dribble. However, I don't go around trashing the song when I can see that most fans really enjoy it. That is their right & it's not all about me. Just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so may a particular song be special to someone for whatever reason. Or maybe a person just plain likes it. There is room in this world for all of us.

Is it comic relief day again already? "Kings" of Rock and Roll? Looking as though you've just wet your pants does not make you a King my friend.

Sounds interesting. May not be everbody's cup of expresso. Probably will appeal more to the Celentano fan's. At least it's something a little different.
