The King & Di - Now In Melbourne

February 13, 2002 | Other
The King & Di, an extremely funny play about Elvis and Princess Diana meeting in the Hereafter, is now on at the Chapel Off Chapel in Melbourne. Opening to the sounds of 2001 you know that Elvis is in the building! Directed by former actor John Tutt (Water Rats, All Saints) and cleverly written by Mick Barnes, this concise 1 hour play had the audience in stitches. Russell Newman plays an excellent Elvis getting the well-known mannerisms and slurred southern drawl perfect and Amanda Bishop (Blue Heelers, Backberner) makes a faultless Diana with fabulous hairstyle and awful accent to match. The play runs to March 3rd. The play will also be coming to Sydney & Wollongong in April.
