When originally released these two albums were exceptional. I thought at that time that for once Elvis' catalogue was having the respect it deserved. All the songs, in original pristine glorious mono were pesented in the order they were recorded and focused on one of the greatest periods in Elvis' musical life. Thankfully no sub-standard material was included with these classics. Today these albums are irrelevant. The 50s Masters Box-Set and to a lesser extent, Elvis 56 saw to that.

Volume one in this series was really awful. Stupid overdubs etc. It had nothing to do with the original vinyl release. CRAP!
