Protecting The King

July 07, 2007 | Video
David Stanley first named his movie "The Headhunter" then changed it to "Riding With The King" and now the definitive title should be "Protecting the King". The distribution company didn’t get "Riding with the King" cleared due to it being the name of a music album. "The HeadHunter" was also not as marketable in their opinion. so, the official title is, "Protecting the King".

David, go get a job. Maybe Home Depot can hire you on for the summer or something. Protect Elvis by forgetting about this movie while you're at it.

Not only his stories change all the time, so does the title of his movies..

I still think "Headhunter" is perfect. Describes him better than most titles. He certainly wasn't protecting Elvis or anyone else for that matter. He has some pretty snide remarks to make about everyone. And my favorite of all his statements: he & Hebler were sick & tired of running for Elvis' pills & hated the fact he was taking so many prescriptions - they didn't want to do that anymore but they were willing to do some cocaine with Elvis if he wanted to. That made more sense to him! Lordy, lordy!

Although "The Headhunter" almost sounds like an Harrison Ford or a Tom Cruise movie, I also liked it more than the definitive one. It leaves more to the imagination of the broad public and indeed covers the "situation" more firmly. "Protecting The King" sends images of "The Bodyguard" with Witney Houston to my mind. ("I Will Always Love You" :-))
