Priscilla Presley will be in London from May 18th-20th to promote her book Elvis By The Presleys.

Three major television interviews are confirmed - Friday Night With Jonathan Ross on BBC1, Richard and Judy on Channel 4 and This Morning on ITV. She will also be giving selected radio and print interviews.

A rare public appearance of priscilla? I see her more than Elvis. Is more she is everywhere, meanwhile Elvis is only money for Rober X F. Sillerman because "to promote her book Elvis By The Presleys" for me is a lie. I change this line for: "to promote the book Elvis by Robert F. X. Sillerman" because Sillerman is the "Boss" and priscilla sell her buying Presley name for 6.5 million of dollars. Robert is the "Boss". For then Robert F. X. Sillerman must be making a public appareance in England not she.

Elvis by the Presley would be a better title because Lisa Marie will probably the only Presley in the book. Priscilla Beaulieu will never marry her Marco for the love of the $$$$$ she keeps on using the name Presley.

Good for Priscilla. She is the Mother of Elvis' child, and has alway's respected and honored his legacy. So what she makes a lot of money. I'm happy the family is getting along, and that Elvis is everywhere these day's. Broadway play's, T.V Specials, new Record promotions, virtual tours, and many other campaigns that are introducing the greatest star to the new generations. It's all good, so let's celebrate and be positive.

Caseyiodine - Good for you too. I am sick of all these so called fans who keep sniping at Priscilla for bringing out stuff and making money out of it. Isn't anyone connected with Elvis making some kind of living out of his legacy, whether it is a musician who played at an Elvis concert and having the show put out as a soundboard by BMG (yes - he will earn something by way of a royalty), to Ernst and Roger who work hard at getting releases to you, and to Priscilla who is also playing a part in keeping Elvis' name in lights. If you don't like what she's putting out, then vote with your wallets and don't buy it. And as for the comment about Sillerman appearing in England at the book signing (formyelvis), who wants a book signed by him. He hasn't proved himself yet!!

Seems like Priscilla is making a big effort for this book. I dont think she done this for her last book did she ? I am quite shocked thats shes coming to the uk to promote it

I certainly will be going up to get my copy of the book signed and hopefully have a picture taken. It will be nice to meet Priscilla and im as surprised as anyone that she is coming over to promote this. It would have been great if Lisa and Priscilla would have come over for Elvis The concert in 1998 and the years after that to promote the show. Who the hell wants to meet Sillerman??

Great to hear Priscilla will be over here again. It would be fantastic to meet her; she must have so many special memories. I for one, thank her for coming over to UK. I received my book though this morning and think it is great. Some fantastic pictures too; so a good read is looming this evening!

Regarding the comment about seeing more of Priscilla than Elvis, perhaps it has something to do with the fact that he's been dead for 28 years, thus unavailable for personal appearances! I bought a copy of the book on Sunday and found it very interesting, and well illustrated. I look forward to getting the opportunity to meet Priscilla in London later this month. To anybody that says that they would not want to meet her because she dared to divorce Elvis, etc, I say good. Every one of them not wanting to go means that I will be one place closer to the front of the queue.

Yeah, your right there Tony. Is Priscilla only gonna be there for an hour? Im sure there will be 100's of people up there to meet her.

I met Priscilla a few years ago at an appearance for one of her fragrances; she was very "rich" looking, quite friendly. She required that classical music be played during the signing, and at one point, one of her people told another that "Ms. Presley" needed more bottled water. They brought out an expensive looking, large silver bowl, filled with ice and several bottles of water. She played, and continues to play her role to the hilt. The problem I have with Priscilla is her claims for all those many years about wanting to be her own person, to break away from the bonds and burdens of being the wife of Elvis Presley. But she certainly has held on to that name, evidently not feeling it was enough of a hindrance to drop it altogether. She has been referred to as his "widow" but that simply is not true. They had a lousy marriage, one which, from many accounts, he wanted no part of to begin with, and they were divorced after only a few years. The fact that she was left in charge of the estate does not justify her continually using his name for her own profit, nor does it justify gross and classless commercialism. Just contributing my two cents worth.

lindes: You should be thanking Priscilla. Not bashing her. W/o her efforts the Elvis empire(commercialism included) would have, like Elvis, passed from the scene long ago. This would have meant no Graceland. No tours. Very few releases of "new" un-released material. Almost certainly no FTD collectors label. Sometimes I think Priscilla, BMG, Ernst and anyone else associated with Elvis product should just throw up their their hands in disgust and say the Hell with it. They're never satified. All they ever do is complain.
lindes wrote on May 05, 2005
Hi Jerry: This isn't about "bashing" Priscilla - my remarks were very civil and truthful. Priscilla is not intelligent enough to have built the "empire" to this point - she's only had a hand in it because of her initial involvement after his death AND because she is Lisa's mother. She's worked with a board of directors from the start who've had far more influence than she ever had. Now, Sillerman's efforts are already in full swing and he's good at what he does, which is commercialize and make money. For those who own the stock, that's great. For those who want the EP image to be even more publicized, that's great. And I agree that younger generations ought to learn about EP's influence in music, because it was so significant. However, there's such a thing as classless exploitation of a figure, and that's precisely what's happening with the image of EP, particularly since he is no longer alive. The merchandising during his life was ridiculous; but more so now. I will say that I have nothing against the quality stuff - I'm glad they've released some really good quality recordings, and it's always been interesting to see new photos and film clips. The release of the "68 Comeback DVD set, for instance, is very interesting. But there's a point where it all crosses from quality to junk and cheap exploitation. So, the whole "empire" has become too commercialized - and the key people involved are NOT doing this because they care about the man, they care about $$$$. And it's never enough for them - greed perpetuates greed. As for Priscilla, surely any true EP fan would acknowledge her hypocrisy, starting with the fact that their marriage was a sham; and from all accounts, he didn't care that much for her even before they married. And a true fan would also acknowledge that she spent a good number of years complaining about the name and how much she wanted people to know her for herself - but the truth is, she loved and loves that name, and she will never drop it. Likely, no one would ever have known who Priscilla Beaulieu was had she not been, at one time, Mrs. Elvis Presley. Same goes for Lisa and the name - funny how she's so angry and added the "F" to her name, but she doesn't hate it enough to not capitalize on it and profit from it. (And don't even get me started on Priscilla's gross lack of proper parenting abilities.) And after seeing several clips from the upcoming CBS movie, (which EP fans should boycott), it's even more proof of Priscilla's poor lack of judgment and why she would condone this production. I know Sillerman owns all the rights to the likeness, but she's on the board and it's a story she knows a good portion of, and one would think she'd have refused to allow this kind of portrayal of EP - from the obvious dissimilarity of the two lead "actors" to the awful acting to the negative impression it gives of Elvis. Looks like one of the worst movies ever made about him. In an interview on the CBS site, she talks about how they needed to let younger generations know more about Elvis - well, this movie will definitely not give a good impression, from what I've seen. I just think that in these kinds of discussions, it's not difficult at all to identify the real, true, long-time EP fans from those who just go along with anything and everything that's even remotely connected to Elvis, just because it's there and is highly advertised. Younger EP "fans" need to learn about his musical influence, and also how to choose only the quality material for a collection. Regards.

This book is great, love to meet her but wont be able. It seems time is a great healer on Priscilla's part She gives you the impression she's still in love with Elvis but is that for our benefit? As long as Elvis is treated with the love and respect he deserves. I wonder say if Lisa was never born? Would Priscilla care so much? Would Graceland be still flourishing as it is.. food for thought guys and gals. T C B

EP would likely have been far happier had he never married Priscilla. Not the marrying kind, if for no other reason than that he had not found the "right" woman, he was clearly involved with someone shortly after Lisa was born. I'm sure he loved Lisa, but he wasn't the full-time dad type. And Priscilla has done nothing but use EP and his name for over 40 years - whether that is right or wrong, is up to one's own judgment. Also, from appearances, Priscilla cares more about Priscilla and money than anyone or anything - she is vain, as proven by her obsession with plastic surgery for vanity's sake, and both her children have problems too numerous to list - the son has already been in trouble for drug possession; perhaps Pris should have paid less attention to vanity and the EP name and money, and more to her own children. I expect she probably cared as little for EP as well.

I will have to watch Priscilla on friday night with Jonathan Ross. That should be quite funny. lindes I enjoy reading your opinions. I do agree with some of the things you say
lindes wrote on May 08, 2005
Hi and thanks, pacer1965: I knew there must be someone out there who would agree with me. My views have not been met well on this site ~ I'm not here to be anti-EP. I've been a fan since I was very young, saw him in person many times from 1970 forward, met a number of the people around him, and know very well his music, films, behind the scenes stuff, the whole story, etc. I think it's fine that younger generations are getting to know his music and influences. But the promotional hype has gotten way out of hand; plus there's the factor of making money off a dead person and there's a degree of morbidity with that. And the whole Graceland thing seems akin to a carnival; there's a cheapness to all of it. And I don't like that people who allegedly "knew" him, will say anything and everything about EP, knowing that much of it simply cannot be verified or denied by the one true authenticator - E himself; they're taking advantage on many levels. It's my opinion that true fans not only enjoyed the music, but also cared about the person. I think he was very misguided and needed, more than anything else, a handful of intelligent, caring people in his life whom he could trust - not a group of immature sycophants and a parade of too-young gold-diggers. I think he had a lot of potential as a human being and artist, that was never used, never discovered.

Jerry Nodak-Lindes. You both make some points, but the fact is Priscilla is the Mother of Lisa, and is doing a great Job with his legacy. As far as I see, until recently Priscilla hasn't been actively involved in a big way. It's her job to be involved somewhat, even if it's at board meetings. She is entitled to make money, and it's Lisa that has control of that now. Jerry, even without Priscilla Elvis would still be huge, just not as huge. Whenever I went to Graceland prior to Graceland opening to the public, crowds congregated day and night in droves. It didn't take a rocket scientist to see the potential.. Afterall, this is no ordinary star. The record companies, fan clubs, visits to Graceland, the city of Memphis, and Tee-shirt gift shops throughout Memphis, would take up a lot of the slack.

There's Elvis Presley's music and there is Business. They go hand in Hand so to speak. Elvis's motto Taking Care of Business has led to Business Tacking Care of Elvis. Schmelvisers (Search google) may make hay, but young people are not stupid, when they hear Elvis at his best all the other stuff goes in one ear and out the other. The publicity generated by Priscilla's book signing will help sell CDs, that's exactly what we want.

hi caseyiodine - Seems much of my posting here has to do with Priscilla, because she is so much a part of the current news and hype. So, why do you think she is entitled to make money? Remember that she took a great deal from EP a long time ago, and after the divorce, she repeatedly painted a negative picture of the man she claimed to love, and continually complained about the burden of the name. But whenever she can make a buck off EP or the name, she's more than willing to do so. Frankly, it's my opinion that she has no right being involved, but he left her in charge because of her guardianship of Lisa, who would one day take over the estate business. Otherwise, she's just the ex-wife of a famous entertainer. And yes, you're right that without her, EP would still be very famous. Whether it was Lisa or merely a group of unrelated business persons at the helm, EP was destined to be a huge source of merchandising profits. I don't know if it's Priscilla's influence, Lisa's, or Sillerman's, but the merchanding is very cheap and classless. I think Priscilla thinks far too highly of herself, believing that her brief involvement in the life of EP is somehow abundantly valuable and interesting. It is neither - everyone knows how she met him, how she moved to Graceland, how they married, that Lisa was born 9 months later, that their "marriage" fell apart and then they were divorced, at which time the caged bird was free to fly away with her karate instructor. Yawn. Old story. That's about the sum total of the person.

Hello To All, I may be off the subject just a tad bit, but someone memtions Priscilla & her plastic surgery. Is there AnyOne out there that feels like I do? She Looks Awful!
lindes wrote on May 14, 2005
Her vanity and obsession with youth is obvious. The botox makes her look even more emotionless than she is and the cheek implants are outlandish. And that Gothic pale skin and stringy, dark red hair parted down the middle - someone said she looks like Ozzie Ozbourne. LOL She should have spent more time over the years properly taking care of her kids, and less time at the plastic surgeon's office.

hi everyone, I was surprise to see Priscilla "different" view of Elvis now. I am hoping that maybe she changed with time and now she sees things differently rather than be saying all this for money. I liked the book, I thought the pictures were great and the stories were really good as well. I also did like the actor that play elvis in the miniseries. I didnt like the one who played elvis in "Elvis and Me" He was so evil looking, this irish actor (sorry forget his name) was really sweet and gave a good performance.

I was so pleased to see her on Wednesday; fantastic! But whether she remarried or not she would still remain Elvis' only wife and my, what memories she must have. To my mind we should be grateful that she, along with others, ok'd Graceland to be opened - it was her home too! I am so pleased she has released this book/dvd/cd and I thank her for every little extra part of Elvis that she will let us see. Sorry to sound so "sad" but I really enjoyed those extra parts that I hadnt seen at Graceland. I think Elvis will rest in peace with the help of LMP, the fans and ALSO PP!
