On June 22 and 23, the American Auction House Julian's will be offering Elvis's crypt at Forest Hill for sale to the highest bidder. 35 years after Elvis's body was laid to rest at the crypt before it was buried on the Graceland Grounds, this mausoleum is still one of the most visited sites in Memphis. The crypt has been empty since 1977, and fans from all over the world want it to stay that way. Please join ElvisMatter's petition and say NO to the auction of the crypt.

everything has it's price. And it's empty so it doesn't bother me one iota

Now who the hell would want that? Let's hope it doesn't get auctioned off. They'll be selling souvenirs from it next!

This doesn't bother me either, but maybe I'm not sure what a cript is... It is not a coffin. My understanding of what a cript is, is the space in the wall of a mausoleum, a cabinet basically, where the coffin would be sealed up. So, if that is what we are talking about, I see no issue at all. Sure, it's a little morbid to market it as Elvis' brief resting place, but I could see someone wanting to be buried in the spot where Elvis was briefly interred? No reason it needs to remain empty when somebody is dying to get in. Or bidding to get in.

I saw the crypt, up close in 1987, and it was in bad shape, back then ! Who would want this? I'm glad that, Elvis and his mother, were brought back to the beautiful grounds of Graceland, where they are protected and loved.

An odd one this. Suppose some one will bid for it, I must admit i have been but for no other reason than i wanted to see as much as possible. Looks like everything has it's price.
