I think the promotion on the new "Elvis-On Tour" DVD release, has been absolutely great so far. However, the fans would have been much more excited, if WARNER and MGM-TURNER- had added new "footage" to the film /DVD, from the hours of film not originally used, and in the film vaults.

It's good that Warners are giving lots of publicity to this release, they could easily have just let it slip out onto the market. I watched "Elvis On Tour" again yesterday, followed straight away by the original cinema trailer and I noticed that there is a snippet of dialogue in the trailer that was trimmed from the film itself. It is the dialogue concerning Elvis' first live performance which is played over the montage sequence. I have seen the film and trailer dozens of times and never noticed this before, or even read about the difference anywhere over the years.

Maybe we need to bombard the message board about having a 'proper' EOT with all the outtakes etc!

I have just watched the new official trailer for "Elvis On Tour" on YouTube. It is very slickly edited and the picture quality looks great. It also mentions the other DVD/Blu-ray releases coming next month.

The new remastered version looks promising: however, I agree that they should have used the material that has been unused. I would have liked that much better. They also could have had that material as extras too. Some of the original stuff like the part where they try to interview the older man is useless. He looks like a deer staring at headlights. Every time I have watched it in the past I think what a waste of film.
