New Roustabout And Clambake VCDs

March 12, 2005 | Video
In Malaysia and Singapore, both "Roustabout" and "Clambake" have been re-released on Video CDs with new cover art. These movies are very popular in the Far East and are big sellers. The VCD format is prefered to the DVD format in these Asian countries.

Wonderful! Must buy these VCDs to add to my Elvis collection. I am also a great fan of the ELVIS Presley movies. Elvis looks so handsome and dashing in them. They are most entertaining and features some really nice songs.

The covers are typically Asian, very colourful and certainly different.But I thought that by the time Roustabout was released in 1964, the Elvis movies were begining to deteriorate. Clambake was an awful film, the songs were completely unworthy of Elvis talent. But of course that is my opinion,CD King obviously feels different.

elvis at his happiest not so much the films but his life . remember these films are for general exhibition and appeal to children to granmas . these days are happy days indeed thou clambake was pretty close to the pits and by this time elvis films were finished . there was a idea at the time to release little egypt and it would have went straight to number 1 but because of the content of the song it wasnt elvis . a bit similar to allc but that song was at the end of the sixties .

I'm not a VCD fan myself only owning a couple of VCD movies but as usual from this part of the planet the artwork looks great and I'm sure when we get a report on picture quality it will be just as good. I got a laugh from the presumption of someone saying 'Elvis is handsome' would be a female......... I'm a fella and even I can see that Elvis most definatley was handsome fella.

CD King must be a female. Or may be a gay. whatever it is, these VCD is worth nothing. If you have the DVD, its good enough. Elvis look better in his early movies especially King Creole and Flaming Star.

I don't think the gender of a particular person is relevant, nor their sexual preferences.Whoever CD King is there opinion is as valid as anyone elses.Though i don't agree with that persons opinion.

Why does someone have to be female or gay to enjoy watching Elvis films ? Everybody has got different tastes. I dont mind watching some of his films probably because they remind me of when I was younger. And no I dont like all his films either. I am fed up watching some films they make today when theres just swearing and violence in them. And I like Roustabout

I know who CD King is. Believe me, he's not female. And neither am I! :-)

Thank you Queenie Wahine. Good to see you back here. And to set the record straight, I'm definately not gay. Happy yes, but not gay. Like Elvis sang in a song, "I'm Gay Every Morning, Every Night I'm Still The Same" {Paralysed}
