June 09, 2007 | Other
Even at the age of 80, legendary clothier Bernard J. Lansky is still creating one-of-a-king clothing. His collection, Lansky Bros. Clothier to the King has launched a new collection of clothing featuring Elvis-inspired designs in various colors.

Their collections, featured online or in their shop located in the lobby of The Peabody Hotel, offer Elvis fans and fashionistas alike the opportunity choose from a selection of quality apparel such as the Jailhouse Rock Sweater, Love Me Tender Velvet Shirt, bowling style Silk shirts like the Speedway and Basic 101, the Legendary Roll Collar, Blue Suede Shoes, Black/White Combo Shoes and Belts, and even some sequined shirts.

'Love Me Tender' has one of the worst online shops I have ever seen! Sell hardly anything. A real pity has would love to see/buyfor friends the shirt June describes. I don't think either appears particularly expensive - I know someone who has purchased the Love Me Tender velvet shirt from Lanskys - its great value at $175 but doesn't compare in quality to what Mr Designer Label (sorry David if you'e reading this!) normally wears ie he has a ton of 'labels' eg $800 Roberto Cavalli and Versace shirts, $3000 Versace leather jackets...oh the misfortunes of being a Solicitor and not a Management Consultant!

Correct me if I am wrong here, but wasn´t Lansky just one of many retailers for the manufactures and designers of those kind of clothes? In other words.. Was he a designer back then or just a regular shop owner?
