June 05, 2005 | Music
Two new import releases have been announced. The first one is "There Goes My Everything" with an audience recording of Elvis' February 19, 1971 concert. The second one is an audience recording entitled "Back On Mainland" with a performance from January 26, 1973.

This really puzzles me: Why is it only released audience recordings nowadays? Is it because all of a sudden there are no more soundboard recordings left to release amongst the bootleggers? Or are they afraid to release quality bootlegs because of fear to get caught, while noone really bothers to chase the origin of audience recordings? Or are the people behind the majority of the quality bootlegs the same persons who now work on the FTD releases? Or... What?

EspenK, I don't really get your point. Why bother, if you like the new releases buy them, if you don't, leave it.In a free economy the markets fixes the price and the quantity of a good. The system you are wishing, where authorities decide what people are allowed to buy or not is called communism and as far as I am informed it survives only in Cuba and North Korea..you should be happy someone releases these historical documents instead of hiding them in a basement.Have a nice day.
