New Elvis Auction Coming Up

March 07, 2011 | Other

Another auction is coming up on March 16 & 25th. The Elvis Presley collection includes film and stage worn costumes from the 50s, 60's – 70’s, jewelry, his Karate Gi, handwritten items and more. Of particular interest is this owned and worn navy blue IC costume shirt with yellow scarf. A solid navy silk hand tailored shirt with high collar with hand top stitching with six button front opening with elastic gathering at the forearms and at the wrists. Accompanied by Elvis' worn trademark yellow scarf yellow in measuring 32 X 32 inches. Elvis would often wear scarves draped round his neck as a accessory piece in the early 1970's. With numerous photos of Elvis wearing the shirt and the scarf together. With letter of provenance.

Would love to have that shirt and scarf combo.

I would have no interest in owning clothing Elvis wore. Something he owned and wrote on maybe, something he wore? I don't get the interest unless it was an iconic outfit like 68 leather or the puffy shirt on the Sullivan show, etc.

How come the scarf looks gold in the 'On Tour' footage, but yellow on the other pics? It looks like a much larger scarf was used with the shirt comparing the footage with the auction pictures.
