about elvis chart news , this year elvis lost the record for most weeks at #1 in a year. Usher spent 29 weeks at #1 this year. it is more than elvis in 1956 or 1957. Why wasnt this mentioned on Elvisnews.com ?

Because compared to Elvis this is not news. This achiement if its right pales into insignificance in terms of total sales figures for the same period of time. Usher would not come anywhere close to the total number of record sold. Singles sales are meaningless today compared to when Elvis outsold eveyone. How many gold or planinum discs have Usher been awarde for their record sales. You could probably display them in any cupboard whereas you need a concert hall to display Elvis's. Go to Graceland and find out for yourself. Alternatively go to the house of Usher and be shocked by comparison. No big deal, its like saying why have bacon when you can have steak

Of course this is news ! Big news. Elvis has one of his biggest records broken. Eddie you are right about overall sales of course, but that was not the record that was broken. The record that was broken was most weeks spent at # 1 in a year. And that record no longer belongs to Elvis. Trust me , i was following since Usher's 2nd #1 of the year and hoping he would not break Elvis' record, but when he did break it it was very strange that it was not reported here - dont you think ?? And i would have bet any amount that that record would never ever be broken - not in a million years. Well congradulations Usher, hope you hold it as long as Elvis did. lets see if he can do it again next year - as Elvis did in '57.

get real. Ive looked on the official Usher site and there is no mention of what you are claiming. Please direct me to the authorititive text to support your view. If it is not the situation, little wonder there is no mention.

I have just read in a late recount of longest stay at number one for a single go's to "The Tweets" "The birdy song" . The Tweets have knocked Usher of his perch and he was kicked in the teeth by Elvis on the way down....way on down!

Are we talking about the American Charts or the English charts ? In England was the longest #1 from Brian Adams for 16 continious weeks. In America I don´t know, it was surly NOT Elvis. But anyway: Who´s Usher ? Who will remember him after 27 years ? Elvis has sold worldwide 1.8 billion records. Usher will make 4 or 5 Cds and then we say good bye to him. He will face the final curtain forever. Long live the King of music !!! TCB.

Most consecutive weeks at number one by one disc in the Britisch charts is from Bryan Adams "everything i do i di it for you"it was number 1 for 16 weeks Elvis is not in the top 10 his longest stay at number 1 is" It's now or never" 8 weeks. most weeks at number one by one disc is for Frankie Laine in 1953 and " I believe". Four number ones in one year has been achieved twice by Elvis in 1961 and 1962 he holds the record there. Most weeks at number one by an artist in one calender year is also Frankie Laine 27 weeks in 1953. Elvis is second 18 weeks in 1961 and has also 15weeks in 1962. And total world sales figure, why is it that we do'nt know that. Blame RCA BMG they never give information that is corect, so we do not know for sure. Fact is that in the 1950and 1960 they dit'nt even gave figures to the RAII to get Elvis his gold records certified. Even now we do'nt get information,we get a lot of Cd's each year but a totale sale figure at the end of a calender year of the whole bunch FTD included, forget it.Why is that.

forget the charts as albert hand of elvis monthly wrote during the 60's is that as the 1.8 billions sales say that it is over time not the short time on the charts that keep the recordings selling .

Forget the charts, Lord. When you are in the charts you get airplay on radio stations and magazines write something about you. that is how people notice you. Do you believe EAGLEONE Elvis would have sold the same amound of records if he had kept on going like he dit from 1963 up to late 1968. Elvis was gone on radiostations a hasbeen, his new singles where rarely played.Sales where at a low level. The same was happening in the US and Europe in 1975 1976 and 1977. We had 1 hit single here Moody Bue and intrest in Elvis was low.His new LP's dit not sell wel and fanclubs lost a lot of fans. You need to be on the radio and TV and in magazines and if possible on the charts.

i tried to let people know where to find thie info on Usher/Elvis , but Elvis news sent me a warning for doing it becasue i said the name of the site. So do a search on Usher to find about about this. it is real - it is true it is an American record, not a British record Usher is not a rapper - his singing style is more like Michael Jackson with alittle Marvin Gaye. i am not allowed to put a link on a post here otherwise i would I have sent the link to Elvisnews.com - so i think they will post the link here. And Elvis has not sold 1.8 billion records - EPE is having a hard time proving the 1 billion claim , so lets forget about the othe 800 million.

Usher longer in US charts at N°1 can be, but those charts do'nt reflect the sales anymore. They reflect airplay and video clips. So to beat the real record of the artist that holds that position based on sales that is something els. There was a time when strait in at number one also was something, these days it is childs play.

get real Get Real Elvis has sold over 1 billion units worldwide. Stop reading comics and read proper books. Alternatively keep dreaming of Usher and winning the lottery

Hey, Jim Semple. It is true: Elvis has sold 1.8 billion records till now and that means worldwide. Alone in the year Elvis got 112 gold, platin and multi platin. 2nd were the Beatles with inly 38. And it is not finished because RCA failed to count the sales and give it to RIAA. Think about it, Jim Semple: Elvis is greatest, everyone eat his heart out ( especially all these Ushers and the other marionetts in the music buisness. ) TCB.
