McFarlane Seventies Figure

August 03, 2004 | Other
Here is a preview of the McFarlane "seventies" figure of Elvis Presley, the third in a series. This one is titled "Elvis, Live in Vegas 1970" and re-creates one of his famous concert appearances in the City of Lights.

This Elvis figure is dressed in a white fringed jumpsuit and includes a marquee base and microphone. The figure is set to hit retail in mid-October.

That's supposed to be ELVIS? Looks like the figure of a BAD Elvis impersonator ... and I do mean bad!

There have been so many Elvis figurines over the years! Only a few actually look like Elvis. Some of you might remember the whiskey decanters from the 70's and 80's. Some were interesting. Others were horrible. McFarlane's 70's figure doesn't look like Elvis, but no one will have to guess who it is. At least the "image" has been captured. It is unmistakable. Certainly, his 68 figurine is the best of the best. Isn't it amazing that such a strong market still exists for Elvis product?

not bad but not as visually effective as the '68 figure. i hope the skin tone is not as pale as in the photo as Elvis was quite tanned during this period. The flares are a bit too. well, flared. Fashions had not yet gone so extreme at this point and the pants were much slimmer below the knee. Likeness? well from this angle it doesn't look like Elvis at all but we'll have to wait and see. still, a fab collection to have. more power to you Todd M. Perhaps something from the movie years next? Elvis in 'the trouble with girls' with removable hat perhaps or the Aloha concert?

I got to agree, it dosen't look like him at all... totally pale, and also totally wrong with the flare pants... I won't add this one to my collection... I hope they redo it over before it hits the shelves.
