I think Ill buy another copy and give to a friend just to celebrate! It really is amazing that 14 yrs after its first release and 39 yrs after the concert itself, that its climbing the charts and in the top 100 no less, and w NO PROMO! It IS a great concert!

Does anyone know what was the catalyst for this CD to reappear on the charts? It seems like it's gone higher than some of the recent new releases!

Without any major promotion, its so nice to see "Elvis-An Afternoon at the Garden" chart, so many years after it was first released. I would like to see RCA do a " 2 CD Legacy Edition" of the 2 "Madison Square Garden Shows" recorded by RCA, with the best possible (remastered) sound and a booklet with photos of the historical shows in New York city !

Here's the clue: heavily in store promoted at Walmart against a $5 price. Get it? From that perspective one can argue if a Nr 85 position is that impressive. Still nice to see Elvis charting, and with a great album of course!

We got it RJ for a very long time allready and never mind that..it is still impressive

RJ, there are so many cheap cds now-a-days that we can hardly call that the only reason for this ranking. Obviously it HAS an appeal. And as written below: after all these years. If not fantastic at least amazing :)

Natha, it's in store promoted with a special display, so stands out compared to all other regular CD's of their total assortment. That in combination with the $5 price.. and the fact that it's Elvis does the trick.. That said, nr 85 is very nice but not spectacular.

I love the two Elvis MSG cd's and it is great to see this one charting again without any word of mouth at all. The local Walmart has a display set up with this CD highlighted across the bottom and they just restocked it so it is selling! I also agree that this was a great cover and eye catching to see the least.

I prefer the evening show. Haven't played this in years. Glad to see it's recharted though.

I love this concert. His performance here and at the evening show were brilliant. This CD is one of my all-time favorites and I think one of the most historically significant releases from the 90's til now.An absolute MUST for rvery Elvis fan.Hope it continues up the charts. It deserves it.

Can this mean that Elvis concerts are still popular amongst the casual fans? Sure looks like it. I bet a lot of casual fans bought the On Tour DVD. It might be a good idea for Ernst and the boys to get busy and release the Hampton Road concert, the Greensboro concert, and/or any of the other On Tour shows on CD.

A bit off-topic I know but can anyone tell me whats going on with Elvis sites. First Keith Flynn's great site seems to have stalled on 30th January with no updates since, and now this site has not updated for 8 days now! What gives?

When will BMG release a 'double 2 CD pack' of the remastered and above all improved materialq of both Concerts at MSqG (afternoon and evening)?? Also, when will FTD release the other classic albums' outtakes/WPs/altern. versions (From EP Blvd, PL, HeTMe, MBlue) ?? Loes, please try to inform us re. the planning of Ernst's intentions for this summer.

in fact the album had gone down to 89 for the week ending may 7th while remaining at # 8 in the catalog chart. so it actually moves up 1 spot to 88 in the billboard 200 but goes down to # 9 in the catalog album chart for the week ending may 14th.
