Las Vegas August 1975 Revisited

A new import double CD set has been announced. The set, containing two - previously released - remastered concerts from August 1975, comes as a deluxe gate fold set with a 20 pages booklet. Synopsis: "After a highly successful tour in July, Elvis was booked for 2 weeks in Vegas, starting on the night of august 18. That opening night was followed by only two more nights and four performances. known among fans as the "Request Box Shows". On the night of August 20 Elvis left the Vegas Hilton in a hurry, and was flown back to Memphis. Luckily a fan from Japan recorded several of these shows on portable Sony equipment, resulting in excellent sounding tapes. They were released, in part, on both Bilko and Live Archives releases. In May the Southern Comfort label will release two complete shows plus additional songs on a deluxe gate fold double CD set remastered from the original 32 year old tapes. A 20 pages photo booklet will be included with the two CDs.

Baggypants, here people express their opinions and comments about upcomming releases. Probably no one is interested to answer your questions. By the way, I think your right about suspicious minds

Well.. it seems we'll be getting a nice audience recording release in May. Southern comfort stands for quality and I'm sure they'll do their best to present these shows in the best way possible. One to look forward to!!

Okay, so we both experience the same situation, on this site, fecc, and other Elvis message boards. While there are nearly 5000 registered members here, few, VERY few, react to questions on news or opinions...are Elvis fans lazy? Do they know little more than what can be found on their shelves, at home, or what?! Isnt a message board all about having discussions? Or are fans, in general, more interested in nonsens subjects as Elvis his lost bible, could his chimp scatter do the boogaloo, and is it bad for the Graceland image to have swimsuit photoshoots done inside the mansion?! Any thoughts?...Anton maybe? 450000 Elvis fans can't be wrong... right, Anton?! But where the hell are they, when you have a question?! Have a nice day.

I was asking if Suspicious Minds was sung for the last time ever during this August 75 stint?! Yes, Im very much aware, Vegas wasn't the best place for Elvis to perform for so long. I know, because Ive been there, several times,in the mid seventies. But my question was about Suspicious Minds, and not about the Hilton showroom, Mature, thank you very much. This is a site with many 70s experts, I was told... I wonder? Wha-wha-wha-wha-wonder!? Oops! Wrong song!

I think vegas was the one of the worst places for him to have been at that time in his life,i prefer the shows were he sang on the road in those big coliseum's,not the small showrooms at those hotels! I think he spent too much time in vegas,as for these shows the sound was good on the originals,so it could be intersting if you like audiance cd's and theres a couple of raritys!

Is it true, during this 3 night stint, Suspicious Minds was performed on stage for the very last time? I believe I read that in The Concert Years, long ago.
