Kansas City Blues

March 28, 2005 | Music
The Fort Baxter label is aware that some producers are re-releasing some of their CDs from the Profile box-sets with inferior artwork. The label think the fans deserve the best products and decided to re-release some of those concerts in very limited edition on the label "Fort Baxter - Classic Series".

All the re-release will come with full color booklets (12 pages) and improved sound from our original master tapes. The technology has changed and this is now possible to improve several of those recordings originally featured on the two box-sets "A Profile - The King On Stage". Several fans missed those sets back then and will now have the chance to obtain these concerts from the original label.

The first of this Classic Series will be "Kansas City Blues" containing the June 29th, 1974 evening show in Kansas City, MO. Originally this CD on the first Profile box-set was completed with two songs from Dayton, OH October 6th, 1974 evening show (Johnny B. Goode and Can't Help Falling In Love). Fort Baxter thought it would be best to use this time songs from the Milwaukee, WI show recorded the previous night.

"Kansas City Blues" is scheduled for release in early May.

Track listing:

01 See See Rider / 02 When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold Again / Blue Christmas / 03 I Got A Woman / Amen / 04 Love Me / 05 Trying To Get To You / 06 All Shook Up / 07 Love Me Tender / 08 Hound Dog / 09 Fever / 10 Polk Salad Annie / 11 Why Me Lord? / 12 Suspicious Minds / 13 Introduction of the band / 14 I Can't Stop Loving You / 15 Help Me / 16 Bridge Over Troubled Water / 17 Let Me Be There (with reprise) / 18 Funny How Time Slips Away (with reprise) / 19 Big Boss Man / 20 Steamroller Blues / 21 Can't Help Falling In Love - Closing Vamp.

Some people may be upset with what I'm about to say, 'I think the Fort Baxter Cover Arts are beautiful and I will definately be buying them all." Thank GOD for the Fort Baxter label.

This project sounds very interesting, but where can you buy these CD's? I have tried to look at the website "For CD collectors only" but I have not managed to find a possibility to buy the Fort Baxter CD's. Help!!
