James Burton Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

October 12, 2007 | People
Elvis’ lead guitarist has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Governor's Arts Awards in Baton Rouge.

From Shreveport, Louisiana… as Elvis would say, James Burton also played guitar on stage, and in sessions, for artists including Rick Nelson, John Denver, The Everly Brothers, The Beach Boys, Jerry Lee Lewis, Merle Haggard, Sonny and Cher and many more, and has also inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Elvis fans can still see James Burton as he continues to tour with Elvis’ TCB band and back home in Louisiana, James has established the James Burton Foundation, which is dedicated to raising money to provide technical training, music lessons and free guitars to young musicians.

Absolutely right. A true legend. Very well deserved, and he's also a really nice guy. Play it James.
